Center Console Delete

I just wanted to thank Ilikebmxbikes for the insight on getting this done. I am so much happier not having to hear the armrest.

There are really only 2 parts that you need to buy, all the screws and nuts needed are already on the car.

Cover centre console, rear - 51169110481 (specify what color you need)

Console insert, rear - 51167135455

the armrest unbolts and you put the insert in its place. The cover snaps into the insert.

Can you post a pic from the front or side of the car to get a better look at the interior without the armrest. Thanks.

Definitely doing this... Love the way it looks, and can't wait to get rid of the big, noisy armrest. Just ordered the parts, unfortunately special order from Germany. Won't be here till early December... Oh well.

Its worth the wait, I had to wait about a week for the parts to come in.

I did this 6 months or so ago. Never once has my right arm gotten tired from hovering. It's a cheap mod. If you end up hating it, easily reversible.

Same for me. I removed the armrest, and have a big hole at the rear of my console while I wait on parts... But so far, I really like it. The "rear" cupholder is now somewhat useful, buckling the seat belt is easier, and my arm falls right into place for use of the CIC controller. Much better

Looks good. I've always used my armrest and storage, but also like the clean look and I have been tending to end up wedging my arm on top of the e-brake anyway.

Just went to the local BMW parts counter. Really easy process.

I love it!! I did that to mine a while ago and it is one of the best modifications I've done to the car.

You don't miss the arm rest? I don't know where I would put my arm if I removed it. It squeaks non-stop but I tried flipping it up and it felt super weird. I'd love to have the E9x M3 style arm rest or some other solid type arm rest.

Maybe it's just my T-Rex arms.

I bought the insert and cover but do you have pictures of what to do with the connectors that are behind? Do they attach to the plate (51167135455) or just stuff them inside and hope they don't rattle?
Thanks
