Nice runs but these brings up a big question for me. How the hell does hotrod trap 124+ in a 335 with hardly any mods and you dont' even trap that using nitrous?

Sometimes a run with a harder launch will net a faster ET but lower trap speed. Hotrod's got just about as much done to his car as this one does. That 25 shot of nitrous isn't making a huge difference, and is probably more to keep the charge temps under control at those boost levels than anything else. Also, I thought hotrod was running a 135i? Is that not the case? |

You're right, he is running a 335i, I had him confused with Oldbooster. If he's had any runs with trap speeds that high, I don't see them listed. http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW--335i-Drag-Racing.html Here's Oldbooster, who has the fastest N54 powered car right now as far as I know. He's got some high trap speeds, but he's also spraying the car I think. http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW--135i-Drag-Racing.html |

From that thread: Quote:
A lot of what he's doing has to do with weight reduction. If you want to pull the seats out of your car, it's going to increase the trap speeds as well. |

+1!
I don't know how many times I've watched them...and drag racing isn't necessarily my favorite thing to do with a car.

Thats a fast 135! What kind of nitrous kit are you using? ZEX, N/X? Did you install it yourself or did you have a kit installed somewhere? Do you ever think about going to a 50hp nozzle if so? Thanks, W |

Brian..that's one fine car ya got there man...Being new to the 135i platform it's a treat watching these video's.
What rpm are you launching at??? I no you are on drag radials but on the stock RFT's what would be the best RPM to launch at? Also are you running the stock motor/trans mounts or did you upgrade? Lastly, are you using the paddles or just put in in D and go WOT and hold on? Seems what i have read the sweet spot to shift is at 64-6500 rpms. |

YThanks! I had a guy that I know, help me make a kit and install it. Using NOS parts. I have try different HP shots and a .28 works very well, with my setup. On the dyno I got about 35-40 HP!

No a holeshot is when you win the race with a slower ET by virtue of a better RT.
