Looking for front suspension ideas 09 128i sport
Hey guys just throwing this out here to see if I get any responses back about the best “pre built” strut and spring packages for my car. Went to reverse outta the garage today and my front driver spring exploded on me never heard a sound like that before..
I might just go with the same oem ones as I like the ride height and such but if anyone knows better set ups that aren’t gunna cost me an arm and a leg let me know! Thank you |

Hey,
I have a 135 and have had the m sport oem one, a JRZ RS2, and now have the bilstein b14 pss9. OEM: nothing write home about. I think think they were tuned for the RFT that I literally never ran because what fun is that? Gotta risk it for the biscuit. They are a fine suspension. You can totally daily it no problem. B14 PSS9: My favorite so far are the bilsteins but imo it’s too soft dampened/sprung. The springs I don’t know their spec as I couldn’t find it on FCP nor do I really care, it’s soft and gets me to work for now so I’m happy with it. JRZ RS2: the setup was fantastic when I was on the track and even on the street. It was certainly more stiff than it ever needed to be when I drove it to wherever that wasn’t the track but I didn’t mind. The problem with these is that they are crazy expensive and I couldn’t find anyone who wanted to do a rebuild on them. My advice: Ohlins and a camber kit. Camber plates can go poopie when you hit pot holes or abrupt surface changes. Ask me how I know. But so long as you’re good at taking off the bolt exactly as the alignment was then you can swap out your top hats (the part that broke twice for me). I can’t speak for BC Racing but that is also an option. My new mindset is to buy a suspension kit that someone wants to rebuild. SlowFatMan |
