loaner car?
What type of loaner car does ur dealer give you when you bring your car in for service? I brought my car in for service(had to balance the alignment) this morning and my dealer(Desimone BMW of cherry hill) gave me a "chevy" as a loaner.
edit: i also requested DRL on my car and he said ok it can be done, I forgot to ask him if it was part of the "sept software update"

I live in philly, Desimone BMW of cherry hill was the closest dealer to my house. I still can't believe they gave me a chevy instead of another bmw

Yeah.....that's sucks.....At my dealer JMK in Jersey you have to call and smoosh the receptionist to get a BMW loaner otherwise you get whatever rental the next door car rental place has . Kinda stupid to drive a 15K car when your 40+k is getting worked on. Me .....personally.... I harass them so I get a BMW...

Most will do business with local rental cie. Mine uses Discount and we get cars as Cavalier, Impala, 300M, Caravan. But the dealer ask Discount to buy some 325, so if reserved sonne enough we now can get one (but there are just a few of them and with a premium).
Other than that, it is usually pretty desappointing: we buy a car between 60k upto 125k and you get ... a USA concept . But hey at least it is free. Acura, for example, usually loan you one of theirs: RSX or EL in Canada. But BWM does not have that cheap a car to loan. Some Lexus loan IS300's. So yes it is to be expected....

Don't you always get a BMW loaner if you bought the car from them and schedule the service a week or two in advance?

well the thing is I reserved a loaner a week ago, I even call to confirm last night to make sure I get a BMW as a loaner and not some cheap cars and they told me it would be done. When I got in there this morning they told me they don't have BMWs as loaners, they're lucky I'm in a rush and I have to be in and out quick.

When I brought my Lexus in for service, the dealer sends out a driver with a GX470 to drive me to work and pick me up from work

I took my car in a while back and they gave a Ford rental. They had to keep my car over the weekend. They called and told me I had to go back to the dealership and get a BMW loaner car. They said they would not cover the rental over the weekend. They gave me a 325.

When I took my car in for the alarm installation, they gave me an e90 325i. Nice!

ok... my service advisor just asked me if i want DRL on my car and i told him yes. He said that'll take the whole day. so i ask him if that's the "sept. software update"; he's not sure what it's call but he'll give me a print out of what's included when it's done tomorrow. so another day with the god damn chevy , but i guess the DRL is worth it

They NEVER gave out BMW loaners 'til recently..... ...when they coincidentally changed their policy to only give loaners to those that purchased their BMW there (and got a lousy price in the process). Hopefully, bad pricing was not your experience. Park Avenue BMW gave me an '06 325 loaner today for while they do the 19.1 software update. |

On my second loaner request, I got a Toyota Echo when I was promised to a bigger car. To compensate for the error, they gave me a gift certificate for $25. However, I would of been happy with a Mini Cooper then.
The first loaner was a BMW 530. |
