No adjustable seatbelt height?

I just realized that the $40K car I am interested in does not have adjustable seatbelt anchors on the B pillar. What the @#$%%. Every car half the price has one, what would ot cost to put one there, $20? I plan to share this car with my wife (5'2") that is much shorter than I am and in my current car I use it every time we change drivers.

Do you guys find this to be a problem, do you find it either cutting at your neck or resting hard on your shoulders?

I too thought it was kind of weird. It hasn't been a problem, but I do find it odd that you can't adjust the height.

P.S. Welcome aboard.

I am the only driver for my car...and well, it fits me just fine. I think with my seat adjustment in the Sports seats puts me at the perfect location for the seatbelt...so no issues here.

You may just have to make sure to have each others settings preset to put you at the right spot for the belt.

Seatbelt Holder. Seems to make the pivot point at the top corner of seat. Should make it better for your wife.

Thanks for the tips. Thanks for the welcome, I am sorry not to introduce myself as a Newbie. It just annoys me to think BMW is cost cutting this option.

That said, I, like most of you guys have driven other cars and have gotten hooked on this brand. I can almost safely say that the people here; (a.) like to drive and (b.) think BMW knows and satisfys this above most car manufacturers. People tend to stereotype BMW drivers and yes maybe most of them are Posers and that is OK, but if I could find another car that gives me the whole package, I would be driving it instead. So I guess I will put up with this seatbelt issue.

I was thinking about this too and what I came up with was it was because the seats are so adjustable? The belts are set up to be in a good position for a driver in the optimal driving position? Dunno of this makes sense, but it makes sense to me . Raise the seat instead of lowering the belt attach? Just a thought though.

That's how I see it, adjust the seat AND the steering wheel for optimal seating position with the seat belt. No doubt BMW see it so rather than a cost cutting measure, it may even be a safety issue. Less moving parts.

No issue for me with the fixed B pillar seat belt position.

That's BS. How can a 5'2'' person reach the pedals?

If they raise the seat closer to the b-pillar so that the belt does not cut into their throat? I know of no other car that has this shortcoming. Are you guys sure? I was at the dealer's a couple of weeks ago and I did not even think to look for that.
