Configurator bugs, errr . . . features

Post up the bugs you find in the configurator on this thread:

Start with a 135i and select the 'high gloss black' trim, and check out the calculated MSRP. Wonder if the CA would honor that price if you print the summary and take it to them. ; -)

I would love to check out all the glitches but it seems as though BMW has shut down the Build Your Own feature for the time being...

Ahhh. It was nice to have have her for a config early on, before she got all sloppy with random prices. As for the rest of you, you can only wonder what it was like.

It was a glitch when I configured it last night. It only calculated the destination charge so the total was $775 at the end. After reloaded it a few times, it was okay.

Good thing BMW is better at making cars than developing websites. Whoever decided to base their BYO site on ASP and IIS should be fired.

This evening, I have problems where on the interior I start changing options and the main image of the car is a red X (image didn't load). Also disappearing main links at the top of the page (home, different models, etc.). It's also just dang slow.

MINI is not a brand?

For the drop down list of brands you can select when setting up your profile, the brands include most you'd expect, but not MINI, the new youth oriented webby life style brand BMW has been trying to establish as a stand alone. (Try to get service for your MINI at a closer BMW dealer.)

So I picked BMW. Do you suppose I'll get a loyalty discount?

Lots of broken graphics as of right now.

It just let me build a "superman" 135i, from what we've seen so far, that wasnt suppose to be possible...

*crosses fingers* hopefully what we've seen has been revised to allow for the "superman" combo...

Aye.

I'm really hoping the absence of Terra is a temporary oversight, but I suppose if it & Lemon are ultimately not available, I may just have to consider it.

The build your own is definitely taking hits during these peak hours - you know how it is when something is new - everyone wants to touch and play with it.

This is the way it is whenever a new site launches - look what happened when iTunes launched - so many people went to the site it cratered.

It is a catch 22 - good that people are cramming to the site- bad that it slows it down for all us hardcore enthusiasts.

Here's a good one. Deselect the 'M Steering Wheel' from the sports package, and you get a fatal exception error in the configurator software. :w00t:

Just noticed another one - if you add the sports package then de-select it - it leaves the M steering wheel up on the Summary of options and on the interior pix.
