I don't need more power. Should I bother with catless DP's?

I am building a track focused 135i and have installed an intercooler and chargepipe with a MHD Stage 1+ tune. I have a set of catless downpipes to go on the car but to be honest I can't see myself needing more power than the stage 1+ and would prefer to keep boost down to reduce heat and preserve the engine. Also they are illegal to run here. So is there any other reason to run them? I really just want the exhaust note to sound good rather than add more boost. But I want to make sure I won't be missing out should I sell them.
Any thoughts?

I felt the same way towards my car until I installed the downpipes. I absolutely believe this is one of the best mods we can do for our cars. Better exhaust note, added turbo whistle sound, allows turbos to breathe more freely, and why not add some more power while you are at it. 100% recommend dp's.

Interesting. I can only assume allowing the turbos to breathe easier would preserve their life..

Also turbo whistle!

ceramic coat them to help with heat management and put some high flow cats in the midpipe if you are worrying about emissions

Downpipes will reduce backpressure and EGT. All good things for the motor while providing increased boost response and performance.

My favorite mod as well, but my temps definitely increased. I've been considering wrapping them.
