lol 100,000k warranty OR 04/09, thats just a year away I'm kinda scared to own a "Euro" without warranty, much less, owe two years worth of payments on one. I guess I should have thought of that at purchase, eek! I was thinking base, no option, 1er on a lease for low payments and no maintenance, then either purchase it or lease another BMW something when those 3 years are up. Unfortunately my college credits are too old, so I'm looking at 7-8 years of school to become a dentist. Then who knows what I'll reward myself with, probably something that starts with an ///M  /hijack

Adrian was kindly trying to look up my car in the system and noted that Valley BMW didn't have any allocations. I didn't order from Valley, never said I did. I only mentioned them as one of the dealers who responded in a positive manner to my original offer thinking someone else might be able to get a better deal than msrp through them. -robert

Excellent. Congratulations! I will probably use the Rizzo method in a month or two when I decide to purchase a car. It'll be either a 335i coupe or a 135i. I can't decide.

Well, thanks to the Rizzo Payne method, I just got an email back on a deal I sent out. Looks like I've got a bite for a deal for 1k over ED invoice. Not too bad IMO
I'm going to take it to my current CA and see if they'll match it. If not, looks like my wait just got a little longer LOL

Thanks, I owe it to this thread though! lol
Ironically enough I just got my ED packet in the mail today. I emailed my current CA to ask if he can match this price. We'll see what he has to say lol.

Nicely done Skip !
That's a great deal, and I think Robert holds the record for fewest $ over invoice so far.
The beauty of the Payne Method is this: who cares if 20 dealers tell you to eff off in response to your low offer, all you need is one to be in an agreeable mood and your in business! |

I actually received some pretty nasty emails from some dealerships. In the end, it doesn't even matter because all it takes is one to say YES!

I'm sorry but to me it's not worth the couple hundred you can save by doing this. IMO, it's important to get a relationship going with a dealer.... preferably a dealer which is close to where you live or work.
I've been using the same BMW dealer since 1979 for sales and service. Could I get a slightly better deal somewhere else? Probably, but when I need service they take me on zero notice and I get great service. When a new car comes out I get the opportunity to order the first one (got the first 135i and also had an order on the first M3 which I didn't take). The people there just treat me great and I can actually call some of them my friends. Do you think the servicing dealer is going to go out of their way for someone that doesn't buy the car from them? Don't think so. To me it's not worth the savings.

I look at car sales like this... The car salesman are not your friends, nor are the guys in the service dept., they don't really care about you, they just want to move units in and out efficiently and quickly with minimal hassle. In the end, all these people wanna do is make money and go home.
You can schedule test drives any place and get service almost any place. Now, if I encounter a salesman or a service writer who consistently and blatantly looks out for my best interests and it shows, then I would send him my friends and family. But none of that reasoning would push me to spend an additional $2500-$4200 on a car.

Moving quickly
Just checked out Owner's Circle and I'm now scheduled for production and have a VIN number.
My CA told me that once there is a firm customer order on a car they try to move those up in the production line whenever possible. |

Still no email from my CA. If I don't have an email when I wake up tomorrow I think I'll just call in to cancel my order and go ahead with this second dealership.
I need to get the ED going and if I have to place a new order I'll have to do it ASAP. I'm wondering if I can just have the second dealer take over my current order? This way I wouldn't have to start the process from scratch, and the first dealership wouldn't have to waste their allocation on my car.

Stick with the CA that gave you an order number! He came through for you. Everything else is just talk.
And I'd be concerned that you could end up losing out on your order entirely if you try to get it transferred. Just my $.02 .... |
