How can I remove the trim from the boot/trunk in an E82 coupe?

Hi guys

I'm about to embark on an audio upgrade job on my E82, but firstly I need to find out what the boot looks like behind the trim, and find the Hi-Fi amp. Anyone have a how-to for removing the various bits of trim? I can't seem to find one on the net.

little pop-pins everywhere. Look around, you will see them.

1. remove the center plastic piece around the latch for the trunk
2. remove all the pop-pins
3. Pull trunk liners out.

Is it fairly easy/self explanatory to get the plastic piece off? I'm afraid of snapping any clips/pins if I don't know where they are

Hi

Yeah they are dead easy, you would be best with a forked screwdriver or part of a trim set, the centre of the plastic pin comes out, you are then able to take out the larger outer section with ease.

Use a trim removal fork. The little rivets pop out easily.

Nice tool if you have it. I use a flat head screwdriver but constantly end up breaking some the little rivets.

I have a full set of plastic trim removal tools which have been great

Still haven't got the new wiring or amp so I've not started this project yet.

I just pulled back the trim for the first time thanks to your post.
im adding a sub amp to the hi fi amp in the trunk.. were you successful with your upgrade? What did you use as reference?
