Btw, thanks for the info, Eddy!
Larry,

I'm assuming the 275's were on a wheel narrower then 9.5" I'm just going off a mix of information I've been seeing. Your absolutely right though. There is a good chance that no fender rolling will be needed. We'll see soon.

You are correct. I was on 18 x 8.5". It might make a difference, but running ~27lbs, probably not that much.

Hi guys, I haven't been on the site much of late. Just found out today that I will have an important event on 21st Nov. Will we have the wheels by then? Actually that means I need the wheels completed a couple of weeks before that date as I am in Australia. Otherwise I will need to make alternative arrangements!

I'd be willing to delay shipment of my rears so that WAY can get his, if initial quantities are really limited. (that does not mean to bump me to the back of the line though!)

Eddy, what's the possibility that they could ship Asia > Australia, instead of Asia > Cali > Australia??? That could easily shave weeks from WAY's delivery time...

The only way WAY's wheels could be shipped directly to him is if UPS air services are used just like when I bring samples across. And it would be a huge favor on the factories part. I will ask if this is possible. We'd be looking at about 1k+ in shipping costs though since I'm paying about 275-300 a sample wheel to get them here.

I can have an answer posted by Monday morning, but I'm thinking the shipping costs will not be what you were looking for.

Prototype wheels are not arriving today sadly. I received an update email saying they would arrive the 23rd now (this coming Wednesday). I'm not sure what happened. I won't know until Sunday or Monday as they are a day ahead and won't be able to explain why until it's Monday there.

I want to thank Nitto Tires and the TOTAL/Nitto sponsored 135 team for sending 235, 245, 265, 275, 285 tires for testing (for all wheels not just 1 series).

I'm looking for a stock 1 series and a modified 1 series with camber plates and a lowered suspension to do some test fitting of our samples. I have a stock car lined up already, but not a modified one, and back-ups are always welcome. more info about this in the CA section. contact me if you're available.

Is there an image above that I don't see?

I need imagery for the site and for these threads asap. so I'm looking for locals to put the wheels onto with different sized tires. After I get that, they'll be sent down to you guys.

All 5 sample wheels were supposed to ship out at once. I'm not sure what the issue is, but it looks like they are coming one at a time as they fire up each mold. so it may take a week to get all the sizes.

The first wheel they are sending is the most important. The 18x9.5" et62 sample wheel in the Anthracite finish. Before boxing it up they took a quick photo of the wheel. It's not very flattering, so I'll obviously post more shots of it when it arrives. We were set to get the wheel tomorrow, it might be Thursday instead, I won't know until they forward the tracking number. This angle makes the wheel look totally flat, which is not the case as the 2D drawings shot it has a slight concave face. You can only do so much at et62 though.

I'm looking forward to getting this onto a scale as it's supposed to be around 18.5lbs. That could be off from final production, but by very little up or down.

I'm going to test a 265 Nitto NT-05 street tire, and a 275 Nitto NT-01 r-compound. Thanks again to Nitto Tires and the TOTAL/Nitto sponsored team for sending out tires for test fitting.

this is off the top of my head, but for the 1 series, I believe I'll be playing around with

235/40/18
245/40/18
265/35/18
275/35/18

I can dig it! as my plans are 245/265. However, I think larry might try to stuff 255/35 up front so if you have one of those I am sure he would appreciate it.

I couldn't get my hands on a 255 and that, although do-able, would be asking a lot from the local test cars. Since it would need maxed camber plates, just the right ride height and most likely front rolling. Anyone who wants to run that setup will have to make it work on their own. I won't be able to pre-test it.

If I'm sent a 255/35 tire, I could see what I could do.

Eddy, I understand the shipment is a week delayed, but how long before we'll actually have some fitment actually done? I know that means you're at the mercy of local 1ers for an unmodified car, and a mod car.

I'm also assuming that the production run cannot begin until you've done your testing and given your manufacturer the green light.

Btw, you're right, those wheel pics look slightly convex to me, and not that flattering at all. Very much looking forward to you getting the wheel and posting a better pic!

Larry,

since I'm getting the rear wheel this week. And I'll have my tires tomorrow. I will do a test of the rear with tires this week. The front is important but not as much of a mystry. So in the next few days

when I get the front then I can post a side shot of the car, although the colors will be different.

Thanks Eddy! I'm running 17x9 ET41 up front now, so no worries about your 18x8.5 ET38.
