Fitted my IC this afternoon. Took a bit longer than it should as I didnt secure one of the hoses correctly with the retainer clip and it popped off during a test drive.

Theres are few more screws to undo the undertray than shown on the instructions but these are easily identified. Otherwise its a straightforward job!

Here a coupe of pictures showing stock vs Forge

Nice one mate, hope you are happy with it, its your well known Forge quality, need to get my 1M back up to them shortly so they can sort out an alloy boost pipe they want to do.

Ok just come back from driving (near 100 miles) and the car definately feels more responsive. Boost seems more consistent now across the rev range whereas before it felt a little lethargic occasionally. Feels like my map is benefiting from the lower IAT'S.

Its early days but I am very pleased with the Forge IC purchase!

All very interesting ! When I want more HP, I'll go Forge or Helix.
+1 about a dyno run, though ...

Hey I notice you are Chicagoan--do you do your own installs? If not where do you go? Thanks.

I've done about 40% of my own mods. A&L Autobody has done the majority of the suspension mods, but I had VS Motorsport in Schaumburg install my M3 rear subframe bushings.

A&L is the same location as IND...separate office.

Thx for the feedback. As far as install, it seems fairly straightforward? No cutting of bumper trim needed? Straight PnP?

The Forge units are as close to plug and play as you can get, some guys have had to do slight trimming but nothing dramatic.

Just what I wanted to hear, thx. Should I assume front bumper removal is not necessary?

Sweet, thx for the feedback! After seeing the dyno results and how the stock FMIC is pretty inadequate (especially given my climate), def an FMIC is atop the priority list!

This seems so similar in size to the OEM one, does/can it really provide any substantial differece/increase in performance?

Im not being a dick, im sincerely asking to understand

It is bigger than the stock unit, I guess least 10% overall. The design of the core plate makes it much more efficient than the oem. You will notice the difference more so if your car has had a remap.

My Evolve map and Forge IC are working very well together. Car feels it has more lungs, revs a little more freely and definately holds boost more consistently. It is a great combination!

The OEM core is 510w x 130h x 110d where the Forge core is 530h x 150w x 130d giving 20% more surface area and 41% more volume than stock. The core is of bar and plate construction, with aluminium end tanks compared. Size is not what a cooler is all about but efficiency and airflow of the core and end tanks in the design, and nor is a cooler used on its own to create 'big peak power', it forms part of an overall performance package allowing you to run increased boost over stock and assisting in keeping IT temps at bay. Quality not quantity!

Mine ran (oem software) 15 deg C cooler on the dyno with limited airflow compared with the oem cooler. On the road that would increase somewhat.
