Alternatives to the Performance Exhaust?

I’m a bit late to the 135i party and missed the boat on the performance exhaust. I’ve searched high and low, checked with all my sources and suppliers and nothing. The only people who say they can get one is Bekkers and I’m 99% certain they’re scammers.

What are some other exhausts that sound similar to the performance exhaust? Don’t want to go catless and don’t want to spend a fortune.

My other idea is to remove the resonator and then connect a straight pipe from just before the muffler to just before the exhaust flapper so when the flapper is open, it has a partial muffler bypass.

I have a gutted stock sport muffler. It is perfect to me for the N55.

Here's the best sound clip I've heard of the BMW Performance exhaust. Done with an external mic.

I've posted this vid several times before. Thanks to 3002 tii.

Also has PPK which gives it the popping and crackling.

The Dinan Free Flow exhaust with chrome tips is 50% off from multiple shops including Dinan’s. I put it on my 128i and it got rid of the drone from my muffler delete while retaining all the good burbles and sound.

For me it was a little more involved cause the pipes are different diameters but it’s a simple cut and clamp axle back for a 135i

You can always modify the stock 135i exhaust to sound like a PE by opening it up and welding all the holes. Also do a golf-tee mod and then you just delete the resonator that’s just before the “axle-back” portion and it’s basically identical.

I love my PE exhaust and wish it would work when I do a 1M conversion in a few years but it won’t. I’ll have to figure out how to replicate the sound

Are you still looking for the exhaust ?
I think that one is still available. Contact the owner.

Dinan lowered the price on the polished muffler to like $550 so I snagged the last one they had and they said that was the last of them. No more. Installed it in maybe an hour I’m amazed by how quiet it still is. I will definitely be removing the resonator next. I still wish I could’ve found a PE but for $550, the Dinan was too hard to pass up.
