Yes, looking at these pictures on my mobile, it looks good. Certainly on styling they do not seem out of place. What interior spec from the M2 are these (what color is the stitching)? Since the 1M was denied having anything better as the sportseats of the day, anything seat with bucket/additional bolstering features will look more appropriate.

Are these fully functional wrt seat positioning, memory and heating. Any details on coding would be interesting for the community.

How does the lowest seat height compare to the stock seats?

I was wanting to get the M Performance seats, but they aren't easy to come by and I wanted to retain heating functionality from dash buttons as I live in a cooler climate. I happened across these on eBay one day, they are from a 2019 M2 competition. I think the stitching is slightly more red than the 1M, but not noticeable unless you're looking for it. I also swapped the emblems from the original black ///M2 emblems to the aluminum finished ///M emblems. I haven't wired up the welcome lights, yet, but everything works as expected except for the passenger occupancy sensor which has to be coded out (OC3_1 == nicht_aktiv in ABG module). I think this gets coded out with M Performance seats, also.

As a measure of the lower seating position, my left elbow (LHD car) used to naturally rest on the door-card armrest and now falls just below the armrest with seat in lowest position (I actually prefer this). I think my feet hit the pedals at a better angle. My right elbow now naturally rests on the center armrest, where it didn't quite reach this armrest before. My guess is these are just as low (maybe lower) as 1er manual seats.

This may explain why getting back into the 1M after driving the CS for a while feels like I'm in an SUV!

This looks proper. how hard were the seats to find? I've been on the fence of getting Max's Recaro with orange stitching, but this method keeps it less race-car, which i like.

I was just researching the idea of swapping F8x seats, found some threads saying it was fairly straightforward, went to eBay and found these for sale all in the same day. It seemed a little impulsive at the time, but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I honestly didn't know the M2 competition got special seats with alcantara on the sides; I was actually looking for carbon cloth seats.

I think they look great. Really love how the orange stitching matches the rest of the car.

Hmm, I was considering the performance seats from amx performance but this may not be a bad alternative to save some money. The alcantera really sets it off and ties it in

If you're looking for comfort, 1 series isn't your platform
That said, they are a little less plush (less cushioning) than sport seats the car came with. Overall, I think the better seating position offsets the reduction in cushioning and creates a more comfortable driving experience.

My don’t love it vote was based solely on them being powered over electric.

Trying to revive the thread!

PRTSB1M

Any details on wiring or how the install went? I can’t seem to find any other info on this retrofit.

Pretty straightforward in the 1M, I can't say for other platforms. 1M comes with proper seat modules already in it, you just need to swap them from the 1M sport seats over to the F8x seats along with the seatbelt sensor, both are plug and play. Then there is one code setting that needs changed to disable passenger occupancy sensor. Here is a youtube video, but there are others:
