New 135i 2008 convertible owner

43,000 miles, part service history, last 2 owners serviced themselves.

Going to get it to a Bmw performance specialist for a check over for peace of mind.

Any advice would be great.

Will post a few pics ASAP.

Not totally!

I'd look at getting your intakes blasted when you hit 50K. Have the previous owners taken off the runflats? You looking to tune?

Indeed walnut blast will be down ASAP.

Yes currently on budget tyres from previous owner, really crap so will change those.

I've just fitted the ssr, dual intakes.

Further after the walnut blast I will fit a oil catch can then want to change the chargepipe fit a bov, upgrade the exhaust, fit a fmic, then stage 2 map with mhd tuning.

Tyres are everything! OCC is a good idea. I'm not sure about charge pipes. They seem to be a popular upgrade but IMO it's a solution to a problem that isn't really there. The standard BOV are plastic s***. I've got Forge and they do their job very well.

Again Forge intercooler but they are expensive and there are cheaper alternatives that are nearly, if not as good.

Exhaust wise, I've kind of done it on the cheap by fitting Kittyless downpipes and cutting out the secondary pipes, then welding in straight pipes in their place (for track purposes only . They are a nightmare to fit BTW. Ask me how I know! Plenty loud enough and releases a worthwhile amount of power- especially torque. You could go for a full system but then its all the £££££.

I don't really get the whole 'stage 2' etc. If you get all your mods done and then get a custom map to take them into account, then that's job done isn't it?

Good luck dude!

At 40k+ miles it could be. Worth checking the history. I had mine done in the inspection 2 service (the big one) just before I bought it. It's a beautifully designed engine but it does seem to have some gremlins!

No worries dude. Sounds like a good plan. I actually bought my car off a guy from Bucks! Small world☺. Budget around 300 for the walnut blast. It's a bit specialist and takes most of a day to do. BMW quoted me 700 quid! I thinks birds might do it and they're in Bucks too.

Haha yea small world it is.

Birds wanted over £500- mate for cleaning them up.

What I'm hoping for us he find someone with the kit that would be willing to help a member out.

Big ask but you never know.

That's a long shot dude, but I like your enthusiasm There is a place in Bristol that does it. I actually went to Cardiff because the guy there gave me a substantial discount as I was the first 135i they had ever done. They are a Mini/ Saab specialist but do blasting for BMW's as well.

Best to get Googling!!
