atta boy andy...welcome to the club! if only you could have seen the progression from older versions. 2.0 is really up to a new level of epic

to larry's point, i can definitely see the problem of IMF points and map switching......kinda sucks that people actually cheat with that. i mean, if there was actually money to be won or something, then at least i could understand why someone would do it. but cheating JUST so you can beat other people? and still pat yourself on the back when the day's over? bogus. ok, rant complete.

wait, not yet. "you know what really grinds my gears?"

ok now i'm good

LOL! Nice one Mike... I'm saving that one if I get my ass kicked at AX.

On a side note, spent a good portion of this weekend setting up the new replacement laptops for AX... Nice to get replacement gear.. to replace the old circa 2003 laptops we were using. Got some other gear replacement too.

Rest of the weekend was spend manhandling a porter cable 7424xp.

i haven't made one myself, but i know what it takes. pretty easy to figure out. you doing anything saturday? if you wanna come out early, you me and brian (and anyone else) should get a bite to eat and then play with the maps

speaking of maps, after about 2 weeks on map 7 of the 2.0 software, i threw a CEL this evening while...er......driving with this loser in a jag s-type 4.2. gonna go hook up the BT now and see what's up. i did log a peak boost of 17.4...new record that may or may not have something to do with that CEL.

Im down, I kinda wanna make a dumbed down map so I dont spend all day doing donuts on sunday. I don't know why your running map 7. you need like intercooler and other supporting mods. The Fuel ratio and IAT's change drastically from map 5 to 7. Map 7 is safe to run in cold weather, but when it gets hot out you need a map with a higher IAT value or else your boost will go crazy high.

You might want to experiment after the event. The delivered maps are pretty vetted already, and likely better than what you could do in an afternoon. (on first attempt too)

Good call on Mike's map 7 though!

Last thought... Mmmmmm dooooonuts

i thought 7 was still ok for stock airbox/exhaust/etc...

here's the actual map values from the n54tech website: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7198

looks to me like the big change in IAT is from 7 to 8...IIRC there's a thread somewhere that says what mods are needed for each map. anyone got a link??

found it! this is technically for the 1.4 maps, but the 2.0 maps are the same. looks like you could even get away with map 8....i wouldn't try it tho

http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showth...6899#post66899

Map 6:
-- Designed to optimize bolt on performance
-- 93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
-- Richer midrange air/fuel ratios to sustain additional torque
-- May trigger hidden tuner detection codes. Purchase a Bavarian
Technic cable from BMS to scan for and delete any hidden codes before service.

Map 7:
-- Identical to map 6 with additional low end response (aka lagfix)

Map 8:
-- Race map
-- 97 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
-- Modifications like intake, downpipes, and intercooler strongly suggested
-- Lagfix enabled
-- May trigger tuner detection codes

Map 9:
-- More aggressive race map
-- 100 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
-- Intake, downpipes, and intercooler required
-- Lagfix enabled
-- May trigger tuner detection codes

My office is a block from the finish of the Boston Marathon (which was today). I probably shouldn't say WAS today, since there are die-hards still out there trying to finish.

Real proud of my sis-in-law, who ran her second Boston Marathon in a little of 5 hours. We cheered her on at the finish and then got her liquored up at a celebratory dinner afterward, as she was definitely really starting to hurt. She also managed to raise over $7k on donations for Dana Farber Cancer Center...

Very carnival like atmosphere at the finish with the crowds cheering everybody on.
