Very good instructions...
I installed an amp and a sub and I follow the DIY. All worked very well.
Excep that the amp of the car is in the trunk on the left side. I will take picture.... Thanks |

curious....
why not just replace the two subs under the passenger and the driver seat? is the boot of the 1 series known to isolate sound as previous BMW's? if so, would that mean in order to hear and feel the new sub in the car, you would need to put down the rear seats? |

the reason I didnt replace the ones under the seat is because, i dont really like any of the options that fit and 2, I already had this set up from the previous car, all I needed was the custom box |

I have a question about the trunk loc that I was hoping someone could help me with. Mine doesn't come with a green wire at all. My input side side looks like this:
1. white 2. white/black 3. black 4. gray/black 5. gray I understand pretty much all of it except for this part. Am I supposed to treat the black wire as the green wire? |

Yeah I ordered the one that was on the link, it just turned out to be a little different. It says that the black wire on the input is internally connected to the my ground on the output and the diagram says n/c next to it, so maybe I just don't touch it?

White- left front positive input/output White/black- left front negative input/output Black- optional audio ground (ties RCA (-) conductors together. Also provides audio reference ground necessary for some installations) Gray/Black- Right front negative input/output Gray- right front positive input/output It seems like it's exactly the same as the one in your diy except that they replaced the green wire for an optional ground wire. |

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but can anyone confirm that the HK Amp is located on the same side of the car in RHD vehicles?
Just ordered a Harness from @Technic so I can install my @TPLSM3 enclosure and JL sub from my 135i into my 1M. The 135i had the base stereo with Alpine Upgrade so I just tapped off the Alpine Amp in the last car... Would really rather not have to pull out both of the rear panels if I can avoid it... Thanks. |

My pac only has the speaker cables to tap in. I need to find a remote voltage that turns off the amp and on when I turn the car off so it doesn't kill my battery. Help!

Can anyone help with doing this install on a base stereo, no amp and no tweeters? I cant find a wiring diagram anywhere for my radio so I'm not sure which wires to tap into with the output converter since I dont know which wires are for the rear speakers.
