135i or 328 e92.

some people are geting the e92 328 instead of the e92 335 because it's cheaper, especially if there's no intent of piling up many option packages, or a desire to only have a normal aspirated engine in the e92 328.

with the 135i coming... unless if a less useful back seat of the 135i and trunk bothers the purchaser, or a dislike for turboed engines due to long term reliability (would a leaser care as much ?, so it's only a purchaser)

are there reasons to still think 328, styling? when the 135i will give you more in so many performance areas?

The e92 is certainly a much better looking car than the 1er and has more space..

Also, the 1er might have some stigma as the "baby" BMW if you care about things like that.

Also, since the 1er is a premium compact, it will be awfully pricey for a compact which might bother some people.

I just don't like the driving dynamics of the 3er and am hoping the 1er is the answer!

for me, the TT motor is one of the main reasons to buy the car. The fact that they are stuffing it into a smaller, hopefully lighter car only makes it better.

You have to pick the car that fits your needs best. If you drive more that two people around a lot, the 3 might be better than the 1. If you care about "status", the three might be better than the 1.

Of course, if you think the best BMW's were somewhere between the size of an E30 and a E36 with the power and (sort of) styling of an E46, well, the 1 might be for you!

AS for the girly car, please, please don't even start that crap. I come from the miata world, followed by the MINI. IT is a known fact that tuesdays on miata.net are reserved for: "I am worried that my friends with mustangs said my car is girly..what do I do?!?" What a waste of bandwidth....

good luck!

But why stop there? Wouldn't the 128i be even more logical downgrade from the 328i for those that don't care for either the extra room or the design of the E92?

I like the design of the e92, just want it to be shrunk down like 2inches in length and 1 inch in width. height is fine.

as far as the 1 as a girly car, i think from the standpoint of female ownership it may very well be one of those... especially w/ the 3 being larger than its previous gen. girl cars like the celicas IMHO, VWGolfs. Heck, even the previous 3series were girl cars too once BMW became set up as a lux. brand.

as for mRSparkle's 'status'.. well i'm referring to the 135i vs. 328...

that is, the better of the 1series vs the lower of the 3series...

300+HP vs. 230HP? (i forgot)...

and better handling vs. a bit worse, presumably.

for about similar price...

i dont care about status in this comparison, I actually would care a bit more about which car looks better.

the 135 would be more bang for the buck than the 328, again specifically the 328.

now if the 135 can have heated steering wheel and air cooled seats, i think i'd know which one i'd have to get more readily.
