Frankfurt 1er Pic ideas

OK guys, what kind of things are we looking for in regards to pics from the IAA? I figured, since there are at least a couple of us that'll be there, if we could get things all together into one post then it would help. I've already read that folks want to see the undercarriage and exhaust and I'll also try to focus on the interior. I'm only 5'6" so I won't be much help to some of you as far as interior space goes... but I'll try What other "aspects" should we concentrate on?

Thanks

What day did you decide on? I'll be there on the 15th. I'll try to get good vids and pics for everyone. Hopefully they'll have colors other than what everyone has seen already.

This is so smart- I'd like to see accuracy of color.
You guys know there's been speculation about Sedona Red- is it bronze-red?
A darker red?

Also, I think all of us would like to hear your impressions-
maybe if there were a time we knew you were posting we could go "live"
and questions could be ans. accurately in real time.
That could be fun.

I'll be there on Tuesday and Wednesday (11th and 12th)

I'll try and get a vid of the unveiling on Tuesday but if it's as crowded as it was for the '05 Z4 Coupe unveiling, I may not get a good enough spot (I'll try though :wink

I'll be pretty busy to be honest After the BMW conference I'll have enough time (depending on internet connectivity @ the IAA) to post up some initial pics/video but then it'll be off to the races before the Audi & VW press conferences

At the latest I'll start posting stuff Tuesday night (Frankfurt is 6 hours ahead of the Eastern Time Zone). Naturally I'll have to take care of the Websites that are getting me there first (I'm "kinda" working) but I won't forget this place either

Drillslinger - you scored a press pass? If you see a guy named Frank Aukofer - punch him and say, "Hugo says hi!"

Ok, so the current "list" is:

Basic Interior design (MMI vs non-MMI if available)

Interior size (Space avail. for passenger, etc.)

Colors (How do real-worl colors compare to brochure. What is "Sedona Red" really?)

Basic (Subjective) Impressions (Build quality, quality of parts/materials, wheels & brakes, rear spoiler "lip" on 135i, etc.)

Let me know what else y'all think of  What I'm going to do is print out a list and take it with me

Yup, 2nd IAA in a row that I've managed to convince someone to put their reputation at stake
Google says that Frank Aukofer retired from the Journal Sentinel :iono: But if I see the name... I'll be sure to assault him for you (Then get beat down by about 30 plain-clothes Polizei )

Yeah he's a freelance now - good guy (old like me) and don't get him started on telling jokes. He and I sat around a table at a Subaru event a few years back and went for hours!

I BEG YOU TO TRY TO CAPTURE PHOTOS OF THE 128i!!!

Other than that, definently focus on the interior, what packages it has (look for Homelink for Premium Package), and more colors than just Sedona Red!

Details - how big/small is it REALLY?

Pics or not, please, please let us know if it has dual exhaust from the turbos back.

Acurate colors would be great as well - even though i am 99% sure I will be getting TiAg anyway!

thank you and enjoy!!!!

Oh ya, this might not mean much with what you see and what we will get in the states but.....

See what tires are on the 135i. The mags talk about performance rubber. That does not necessarily mean non-run flats, but I am curious if they will show it with the same performance tires as the M3. I forget what they are now, but they are not run flats.

The hi-res photos show Bridgestone RE-050s - we matched the tread pattern with a pic found on TireRack (shows you how anal this group is ; -).

I've been keeping up, but I missed that. Sweet. And yes, those are the ones on the M3. Don't know much about them, I'm just happy they are not run flats.

We made it to Germany and I'll be catching up with everything throughout today and tomorrow.
The plan for showing the actual size is to get video of my chubby 5'6" self walking around it and then another vid or 2 of me in the front and back. My friend is going with me and I'm trying to convince him to test out the size of the interior as he's taller than I am. He's just not sure he wants his face ALL OVER the internet :iono:

I'll be back later
