135is Performance Parts
Hi guys,
I have read the spec sheet on the 135is many times but I still have a few questions about my future ride. 1. Does the 135is come with a true short shifter kit, or should I invest in a true ssk. I have read conflicting reviews, that past M packaged 1 series came with a ssk, however without the performance boot or shifter. Please feel free to elaborate if you guys know of any details. 2. Finally, how does the performance exhaust sound? Thanks! |

Based on the parts breakdown (realoem.com), shift lever in the 135i is the same as the 1M. And different than the 128i (although different trans). No separate part for M pkg cars. Web search pulls up available ssk options for the 128i, but not 135i. Best guess, ssk.
Youtube for performance exhaust. It sounds phenomenal. I too am impatiently waiting. |

I am really curious how the shift feel will be. As for the PE, I have seen a couple of youtube clips, however they consistently sound different so I don't know what to assume. I have seen a couple of clips where the exhaust sounds extremely throaty and others where it sounds mehhh. |

I too have see the YT videos and know what you mean. I think the difference in sound might be related to whether the 1er has the N54 or N55? Just a guess

I sold my 128o and I got a 135is less than month ago and I fucking love it.
It doesn't come with a short shifter kit but the exhaust sounds freaking amazing, it's not annoying loud but it pops and grugles

I took delivery of the car on September 13 2012 and have to say that this is a fantastic car! The exhaust grumble and burble are perfect!

Ive had a performance exhaust for years now. I cant even remember what a stock 135 sounds like! Its phenomenal...plain and simple.
Its relatively quite and unassuming at low rpm and cruising...but once you nail it the cars sound will carry for blocks. |
