Beautifully Spec'd No Nav 1M on BAT

I guess I'm biased because I spec'd this baby in 2011. Only option was Sirius radio. Nothing more.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2011-bmw-1m-76/

Ughhh I want her back... Lovingly broken in on Euro delivery. Painfully kept it under 4K RPM for two weeks, varying speeds on the Autobahn. Paid for out of pocket oil, trans and diff fluid change in Munich for one run over 4K on the last night at 1200 miles before bringing to the US. If I didn't have another 1M in my Garage..... bad timing.

High(ish) mileage, modified with coilovers and a Dinan tune. I am predicting 40,000 to 45,000 plus BAT fee. Let's see if I can win again!

When you modify a car like that, then the working assumption has to be that it has been tracked and driven hard.

The seller is throwing in a trickle charger and a bunch of used floor mats. That ought to up the value :-)

Those are just springs, with OE dampers. I hope no one pays more than 40k for it. I would swap my power seats for those manuals, tho. My previous CPO 135i was space grey, with coral red interior and manual seats... they are the proper height.

Manual seats in 1 series for the win.

Was that your old car Nacho?

Can you tell me about the hood, it looks like it came from the factory? Looks a bit different to me than the CF hood that HP Motorsport had for sale.

Also, since you are in San Diego we need to connect you with Doug Demuro since he loves the 1M and asks people in San Diego to connect.

No better person on the planet than nachob to explain the awesomeness of the 1M.

Good point on the seats!! That would be cool.

Yes that was my old car. The hood was not factory the new owner added it but it is an original BMW hood from the electric 1 series so it has a bulge. She has the original hood still though and the original springs too. I'm game to meet fellow car fans but Doug has done some pretty extensive videos on the 1M and not sure I can add much. I do hear other reviewers say erroneous things though about overboosr etc. That was my first M car first Euro delivery and the window sticker has my name on it so I feel something special for this one : )

Any advantage to the ActiveE hood? I know the hump is for clearance reasons, but is it aluminum or anything exotic for weight savings?

Nope! Only advantage is if you put a V8 and needed room. Coefficient of Drag is already up there with. Kenworth tractor trailer with stock hood. The only benefit I can imagine is the drag might shorten high speed stopping distance. It is simply a cosmetic homage to power dome on e90 M3.

The below thread gives you an idea about the stir over the ActiveE hood back then. No one cared too much about them ("oh, that's neat") until word got out that BMW was scrapping remaining ActiveEs --then like GME things went bananas for a while.

It seemed cool for a bit but knowing it's just for looks takes some of the coolness away. I love the side scoops on the California package Mustangs but once I saw they were just fake glued on scoops, it lost some of its luster as well.

Hi everyone. Auction ended at $48,759.00. With the 5% buyer's fee, that comes out to $51,196.95. I think that is a good/strong price for the vehicle.

Wow, thank you. That is definitely better than I had expected! Can't win them all.
This definitely bodes well for resale value for those of us who have undertaken some modifications, especially if tasteful and functional.

It's only two owner California car both times and both owners available. That is kinda unique for a 1M these days in BAT.

I haven't been on this site for some time but remember when a lot of us came home with new 1M's. I miss Dackelone and his knowledge and adventures. I do have several cars but still have my 1M and its still a very special car. I sometimes think about selling it but after driving it I understand when people say its greater than the sum of its parts. The steering is only rivaled by Porsche GT's and the shifting and braking also add to the enjoyment.
According the the registry I have 1 of only 2 produced as a AW stripper with HK only? It has 7k miles on it now and I don't think I will ever sell it! Long live the 1M!
