Tried to install mine just now, gave up on it. The poly fights you every step of the way to force it into its proper position. Once its forced into position it doesn't look half bad. But man its like trying to hold a spring in place, its ridiculous.
I'm going to use one of the lifts in my service department, that'll make it so much easier. I'll report back once I'm done. |

Got my car on a lift, was able to wrestle it into place and pin it there using my prodigious retard strength, and drill the holes where needed. Fitment is actually not bad, all considering. Can't beat the price either.

Man, that actually looks like it fit pretty good. Did you do any trimming or shaving of the plastic to make it fit like that?

Ammonia, Which of the sellers did you buy from? Your fitment looks good.

Got mine tonight for my 128i non msport bumper. it appears to line up pretty well with some bending induced, should be fine once its screwed and glued to place. still wondering exactly how to go about installation the best way.

just installed mine and it was ridiculously easy, not sure why everybody complains about the fitment. yes you have to bend it a little on the ends to get it to fit(doesnt warp or make it fit bad, simply push it to line it up, then put screws in the ends). I did it how ammonia suggested. Line up the ends, put in the screws, then lined up the middle and put in screws. i used 6 in total, two in the ends, two in the middle-ish part where it raised to meet the contours of the bumper, and two inbetween the end ones and those middle screws. don't have any pictures as its raining and it was hard to get a good shot, but once it clears up i'll grab some.

Yeah that could be why it seems to have gotten easier haha. I forgot to mention, where you said two of the screws line up, i took those out, used two longer ones they gave with the lip, and then re used the stock screws on the very ends of the lip just to give them some more support, so in total i have 8 screws and some double sided 3m tape holding it on, it's surprisingly sturdy.

Just had a euro meet tonight, and a few people remarked on how it looked even better than the CF lips some other cars had out there. I'm a believer now man. I love the lip haha |

it honestly does, it's more tucked in then most but still adds a nice little aggressive look. I just wish it didnt have the stupid little JDM wings on the ends but i'll get over that or modify it eventually.

Yea thats the only thing I don't like about it. Even more obvious from this angle: I'll end up cutting them down at some point in time because they bother me so much |

I'll probably end up cutting off the wings with a dremel as well. I think the best way is, since i assume its hollow is to kind of taper it off starting at the beginning of the wings to the end of the bumper towards the wheels. for now i'm leaving it alone.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I have a feeling I'm not the only member looking for a cheap-er alternative for front lips.
After searching for hours, and from what I've seen the past few years. My favorite lip by far is the iCarbon style lip. Unfortunately their out of business, and even if they were still in business the price range is way out of my ball-park. I don't want to spend $600+ for something that I might destroy from one bad parking job or driveway. Has anyone found any knock off's that look similar to the iCarbon's? After doing some research, I found **********s used to sell a replica CF piece that was still a couple hundred ~$400. But they no longer sell them anymore. |
