Scammer: Nick Olson

Hi All,

We have been getting a lot of complaints locally of a scammer Nick Olson on facebook forums that just sold some bad N54 turbos. Looks like he came from some Ford forums and not sure if he is on here but there are many accounts on his bad activity.

Fill me in, exact details.

If it was his stock turbos, there was zero shaft play and they did leak a little internally. He knew this.

AFAIK, the engine itself had nothing wrong with it.
And the smoking may have just been from the cracked vacuum pump cover, pressure in the bottom end blowing oil out the turbos.

Also, who is "we"?

FYI, you do have to be a part of the group to see any of that. You could post screenshots or copy/paste.

Here are some of the screenshots from that group. I personally have not dealt with the individual and anyone can obviously buy at their own discretion but I am just giving a heads up since it seems like he is moving from Ford to BMW.

The N54 turbo buyer should have not paid via paypal friends and family which is also a good lesson.

THE TURBOS WHERE FINE.

Unless he switched them out, I had hands on them and can verify there was nothing wrong with them.
Can't comment on shipping.

Huh, this is interesting. I'm curious how you know the guy?

Seems like something I wouldn't want to get in the middle of tbh dude.

Met him through street racing. He didn't but wanted to organize stuff. I offered help. This was 3 years ago.
He made a FB group that a lot of people joined, about racing. But honestly not much racing happens, lots of posers and kiddos.
Somewhere someone got offended and started a counter group, kiddo drama. I'm not sure exactly what went on. I don't get into it.
Since then it's just been a shit show and every move the kid makes is under a microscope.
Granted he has some poor judgement at times. But everyone does, maybe not the same volume. I don't follow him or know everything that's gone on. I don't ask either.

The most striking thing I see of him is his persistence. There are thousands of people in this area who constantly bash him. I don't know any local car guy that doesn't know his name and have something bad to say.
But finding a first hand experience with him, you'll find maybe 50 people. That's the part I really fight for, real first hand information. Internet and banana phone has run amuck here and seems to have no end, all seemingly from those 'a friend of mine' tales.

From the group FB group beginning, many of those posers didn't even have money for gas to put in there moms car. I have to wonder how much jealousy is coming out of there. And lack of understanding of adult things, like having a job and not doing drugs and drinking.

I'm not into internet bullying by proxy individuals (zero first hand interaction).

I talk with Nick infrequently, maybe once a month or 2. If he has BMW questions he'll contact me, and that's about it.

iminhell1 Thanks for the info. Just passing along experiences my local community has had as it happened among multiple local BMW FB groups. Every individual is allowed to make their own judgement call in the end.

What about him trying to sell gt500 allocations for 15k and then the dealership said he didn't have any?

How Is that innocent. Yes internet is crazy but usually it's partially true.
To many first hand accounts even you said only 50 are first hand. Shit 50 first hand bad experiences, that's not good.

I was just grabbing random numbers. I don't think any factual number can be had as there is little if any proof of anything from either end.
I mean in this thread we have one, but it was resolved.
I have not seen anyone post screen shots of disputes from the ecoboost stuff.

Lots of hearsay but no proof.
Mind you I do feel there is some truth is some, but it's made out to be a larger problem than it is. All Toyota's even today have unintended acceleration problems. Avoid them at all costs. Chevrolet builds the longest lasting most reliable trucks on the road.

The GT500 thing, I'm torn on. On one hand I think it's an innovative business move. Dealerships will charge premiums that will be equal to or above this for many desirable cars. So why can't a private citizen scoop them at their own game?
On the other I think it's stupid to sell for more than MSRP. But sucker a minute and such applies.
Look at the New GT. You can buy one but it isn't yours and you have to jump through hoops to keep it. In that case the reach of what actual ownership is has gone awry.

I think they should have let him go through with it. Let his poor decisions sink in and bury his ass for the rest of his financial life. hey bud you're 23 and now have $300K worth of cars no one wants to buy from you, and your first payment of $13K is due next month.
