DIY REQUEST: Push Starter

My 08 135i's push starter is lookin really nasty after 5 years. Anyone know or how to replace the stock push starter button with a new OEM 1?

Just pull it out. Get something thin and plastic and kind of sturdy and go around the trim and pop it out. It'll come out pretty easily. And then you just pop it back in.

It's that easy? I read that you had to take off the A/C vents to get behind it. Thanks.

Mine pulled right out. Maybe it's not supposed to. I pulled on the trim with a plastic putty knife and everything came out. It was hanging out for a couple days while I painted the trim.

Yeah just start working around the trim until you can get your fingers under it and pull it out. That's it. There's a video on here some where if you search for it. Pretty easy stuff. No vent removal required. Just don't bend it to much. It's plastic and could break.
