2011 N55 check engine light, torque error code? On a manual!

Hi guys

Was driving in traffic today and my car went into limp mode.

Engine sound fine and there was no knocking etc.

Got it plugged in and the only error code it had was for a torque sensor.

This seems really strange as my car is a manual!

I've cleared the code and the issue hasn't come back (yet).

Any ideas what it could be?

Cheers
Merb

Can you please share the error code number? Your scanner may provide a different description than other scanners or sources of looking up codes. All of the results that the googles give me when I search "BMW torque sensor error" are related to a torque sensor used in the Electronic Power Steering systems.

The only possibly related sensor that we might have that could make sense in this situation (using context clues against the EPS Torque Sensor) is the steering angle sensor.
