Display current gear in 6MT 135i
The Audi S5 has a useful feature where it shows you the current gear so you don't have to look at the shifter if you forget. Is it possible to enable/add this feature on the 135?

is that really necessary?! it's not that hard to know what gear you're in...you can even just put your hand on the shifter to remember
in reality you should know what gear you are in anyways...unless you're on the freeway maybe. I can usually tell just by how the car feels...every gear feels a bit different |

When I started learning stick on the 135, I wished the car had that, but honestly, it's kinda pointless. I can't imagine "forgetting" what gear I'm in. Like IEDEI said, it's not that hard to reach down and know what gear you're in. And as you learn, you can easily tell what gear you're in by looking at how fast you're going, and what RPM the car is at. Though I guess it's a neat feature.

Happens rarely but there is nothing you can code to get a dash readout. MHD or Cobb will display gear.

Seems like a useful feature on a motorcycle. On a car, not so much IMO.
But to answer your question, no, I don't think this is a feature that can be enabled on the 1er.

This is VERY useful on my Yamaha FJR1300, but on my 135i, I can tell with a glance at the tach needle relative to the speedo needle what gear I am in. Can't everyone?

Does anyone really need the feature? Probably not, but it is cool. It can be enabled via coding. Efficient Dynamics will display the optimal gear to be in, given your current speed.

With my 1-Series cars, it is not difficult to know which gear you are in, so it's probably tits on a bull, as they say. |

I wonder if switching to a DCT or Steptronic instrument cluster would work? Maybe with some coding.
