No NAV, No Radio, CIC Dead
Hello guys! First of all, new to the forum, sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section. I just bought a 2013 128i (26.000 miles) convertible from a friend and need your help. The car was parked for about 6 months, took it to the dealership for a service, battery replaced and... CIC is dead. It doesn't start, I get no sound or response from the radio either. I can hear an "electrical" sound coming from the radio body every 20 seconds or so. I will attach a link to the video with the sound. Should I start thinking about a new CIC?
Here's the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyAqhzIQsJs Thank you in advance. |

Parked 6 months inside or outside? If outside, did something get wet? You will occasionally see stories / questions here about finding water int he trunk of the car, and the things it has damaged.

Much of this stuff is in the trunk between the battery and the seats in a sort of well like area. Even if it's dry now it may have been wet at some point? There might be some tell-tale signs if that was the case. Maybe not, hopefully not, but if you do see something that would sort of settle it.
It sucks because now you start throwing expensive parts at it hoping you'll get lucky. |
