Two 1Ms..

One is stock, the other ESS and catback (not sure which). Not much of a difference so your butt might be accurate.

see ~1:00 and ~2:00

The white 1M in the video is mine. I am not quite sure why I made similar numbers to orange car, but I can assure you that the car is stock. I really have no reason to lie.

Man! We need answers! I was just preparing to order the ESS unit and expected 65 to 70 HP. I'm I dreaming or is it worth it?
65 to 70 HP from the tune alone, no other mods? You're dreaming

you are dreaming On the 1M you will not get that kind of increases with a tune only. A good tune is still worth it though. (improved driveability and a nice bump in power, especially with some bolts on like FMIC and exhaust.

Raptor, I have exactly same mods and my feeling is the same. It feels more linear. Power delivery is smoother in 1st and 2nd gears, but I don't feel a considerable power increase from ESS.

You guys really want to feel a gain? Hook up a JB4, run a tank of pure MS109 and keep turning the boost up on map6 until you see your ignition timing get "drops". Then, back down about 1psi from that setting.

You'll be left with a race gas tune that is very easily felt over the stock map.

Too many people had "issues" with the ESS tunes. I wouldn't do it. COBB, GIAC, Juice Box 4. Those always perform well and very rarely does anyone complain if ever.

The factory tune on the 1M is very well done. You are not going to see as much gains on a tune for a 1M as compared to a 135 or a 335 with the N54 motor.

I did see good gains with my ESS Stage 1 Tune, however I do not have aftermarket downpipes see here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=557030

I do think that if you have removed your cats with aftermarket downpipes that ESS needs to know this to maximize the tune for you and also to prevent a possible CEL.

As for the DME adapting after installing the ESS tune, it only takes about 20 miles or so for the DME to fully adapt.

Hope this helps!

You should add Evolve to that list

I will have the Akra downpipes in a week or so. When those come in I'll get an updated ESS tune and strap it back down on the dyno and see what kind of power it makes.

You will def notice gains because of the catless downpipes alone. The tune will not change, the only thing they will do is shut off your cel.

Are you able to may be dyno it with stock file and also with the tune file? The delivery is smoother so may be you don't feel as much kick as you expect? I certainly didn't feel a lot of extra kick but the gain is definitely there especially at the later rev ranges.

Isn't boost creep a definite possibility from running a catless dp without a tune? I'd hate to see someone's engine blow up.

The engine management is set up in a way that it would not be possible for that to happen.

If you went completely cat less, you should be getting a CEL soon or later.

The tune does not need much time to adapt. Dyno with GIAC stage 1 switcher back to back show significant power gains.

I don't think the real issue is even known unless the OP provides some dyno runs with and without the tune.

While Lare is correct, my butt dyno has shown after about 700 miles a monster difference in the power. This is the first turbo car ive owned that has taken this long to adapt. But so far this is what im gathering.
