does auto wax melt?

last couple weeks here its super hot and the sun is burning.
I am wondering if I waxed my car the day before and have it directly expose under the sun, do the car wax I applied melt away?
please help!

I love Vancouver, it is my favorite city. But I never remember a day I would describe as "super hot".
