2009 CPO Vs 2008

Hi,

I'm having a hard time justifying the extra price for a 2009 with low milege and warranty as opposed to a 2008. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could comment. Here are the details :

2009 :
--------

Asking for $ 30999, firm, won't budge.
2009 135i M-Sport 6-Speed Black / Black with Navigation w/ Real Time Traffic, Comfort Access, Satellite Radio, Premium Hi-Fi Stereo, Anti-Theft Alarm System, iPod/iPhone dock, Glacier Silver Aluminum Trim, BMW Assist, BlueTooth Phone, and parking sensors. The car is in near perfect condition with only 17,xxx miles. It has been garage kept and has mostly highway miles. It also comes with the BMW 6 year / 100,000 mile warranty and registration is paid until September.

2008 :
--------

Priced at $26900, but it's a dealer and I can probably get them down.
Model: 135i
Year: 2008
Price: $26,995
Miles: 39k
Stock: 10018
Color: Titanium Silver
Interior: Grey Leather
Transmission: 6 Spd.
Vin: WBAUC73538VF22709
Details:Loaded; 'M' sport pkg., cold weather pkg, more. This little pocket rocket is like new! New Yoko. S-Drives.

No CPO on this one, I'm led to believe extra warranty will be around $2000 with aul.

Advice would be highly appreciated, and you'll always be welcome to SF

cheers,

..i

Given the extra year of OEM (not CPO) warranty, the CPO and the 20,000+ difference in mileage, I think I'd opt for the '09.

Tom,

Thanks for the reply. Do you think this is a fair price ? KBB excellent is around the 31k mark, and the owner will not budge because I believe that's the balance if the loan he has left with BMW.

maxnix,

I did give him a take it or leave it price but he's pretty firm. While the 2009 looks better, I'm not looking for nav. I'm perfectly fine with default + m-sport + premium.

Since I will be a first time BMW owner, I was wondering what your opinion is on buying a used car with 39k on it, it seems a touch to high for me to be comfortable with. I envisage putting ~10k miles/year on it at best.

I guess I'll just have to bide my time and keep looking, finding a 6MT in a 500 mile radius is proving to be quite difficult.

cheers and thanks,

..i

Choose only a warranty from BMW.
