Many thanks. FYI-my 2011 135 Coupe priced out just below $42K including shipping. 2012-is over $45K. However, I failed to order power seats. So, it looks like comparing apples to apples there is a net $2K increase for 2012. This makes the 1M look like a decent bargain if you can call $47K + a few options to $50K a good value.

I am really disappointed with BMW about the pricing of the 135. I think the 128 is still decently priced, but 8k more for the turbo engine is getting ridiculous. I know there are more standard options, but the only one that really irks me is the cheaper price for DCT since I want a manual. Oh well, not really a lot options other than buy it or not, but just needed to rant.

I think it should be obvious that BMW is pushing DCT with such a low price. You will need to ask them for their reasons. This is the only bargain in the 2012 price sheet, as far as I'm concerned.

Yea pricing has gone up. I'm still sold- been eyeing this car since this time last year. DCT so cheap is tempting but I'm still a 6-speed guy personally. Leatherette for me too, 1500 for upgrade too steep but I do like iPod and power seats standard. I'd be happier with 1000$ less and manual seats though.
Hey Vegas what kind of configuration u looking at? |

I can't really compare configs since I wanted sport package.. But other than that there is about a 2300 difference between adding up these numbers, and config I want on bmwusa.. Sucks- but I couldnt be more excited about getting it!

I just got the 2012 pricing with options and I must say it's ridiculous. Premium pkg for 4100 bucks vs 2650 for 2011 128 and an increase of 1500 bucks base msrp.
Overall increase of $3000. Guess I am no longer ordering this car |

Wow, this really sucks. I don't see the reason for the $3K bump. I only want a manual 135 + M Sport, but I refuse to pay this. I'd rather find a 2010 or 2011 CPO with low miles.

Thank you for sharing OP. This is definitely bad news for any prospective 135 owner thinking about ordering a lightly optioned car. Basically the cost of the car went up $2700. Power seats are now forced, and you do get a $1K or so break on the DCT transmission compared to the 2011 car. But the value package is gone, at least for the moment, so anyone wanting a basic 6MT car with only leather and ZMP as many here own is facing a MSRP increase of more than $4K.
I think what's happened is BMW has now tested the market for the car here, and learned that it isn't going to sell in any substantial volume. So for them to even import the car to the U.S. they have to get theirs so to speak on the few they do sell. It makes no sense for them to sell the 135 on a thin margin when many buyers would have otherwise bought a more profitable 3 series coupe. Plus the Leipzig plant is now making the 1M and a number of other models that sell well, so they have no reason to price the 1 aggressively to promote sales volume and keep the production lines moving. The bottom line is the value proposition for these cars has definitely taken a big hit with this news IMHO. |

Does anyone have the Canadian price sheet? With the increase in prices I think a decently equiped 2012 128i will cost about 10k more than a 2011 (in canadian dollars)..... flipping rediculous

Am I reading this right?
On the 128i, to get a $150 straight discount on ZCW, you just need to order 4DH (Alpine White Trim) which is a free option? It is a bit surprising. Is this a typo? |

ZCW is cheaper with the M Sport package vs. a non-M Sport package car. I think it has to do with the headlight washers. On the M Sport and 135 they are retractable. On a non-M Sport they are the fixed type washer (not recessed). So I think for that reason the ZCW is cheaper on an M Sport and 135.

On a 135i the base price increase compared to early production 2011 is $3000. Premium package is up $400 but DCT is down by $1125. Sport package is only available as M sport, but some would argue the $200 difference is not a price increase. Bottom line is a 2012 would cost $2475 more than my 2011. However, for someone who beat the system in 2011 by ordering a 6MT car with free leather and sport (no premium) the difference would be a huge $4650.
I don't see any information on interior colors other than the two "Priority 1" leathers. The poster above who said "BMW must get theirs" is right on target. The successor to the 1 coupe, probably a 2 series, will edge even closer to the 3 series in both price and trim. It will be promoted as a smaller, more sporty alternative to the ever growing in size 3 series. My last thought is that anyone who wants a 6MT in 2012 will have to order it. With the DCT so inexpensive, I don't see any dealer ordering a 6MT for stock.
