Just noticed it myself, ya beat me to it. My car went up $2475, although $200 of that is for the M sport. I can't say I like the base wheels on the 135i as much as the 5 spoke ones on my car. Looks like there will be even fewer 135i's in 2011 than in 2010 at these prices.

My car is an early production 2011 with a gray leather interior. It had a base price $300 less than late production. The plastic parts are gray as they would be on a 3 series, rather than black as is shown in the configurator. I wonder when that change took place. The high contrast between black and a lighter colored leather is a bit much for my taste, although it's a perfect fit for some. If buying today, I would have to go with taupe to get a single color as black is too hot for around here.

It's still a bit buggy, as the 128i vert cannot be built with leather - only leatherette!

WTF is BMW thinking raising the price so much!?!?!?! Do they just want the 1 series to fail??? It was already too expensive. The 135i should of had a base price of $32k...

I will agree that BMW is reaching with these new increases, and the comments in most of these posts demonstrate how price sensitive the American market is.

I just used the Canadian configurator and my 2012 ended up being $100 cheaper then my bill of sale for the 2011 I had originally purchased

it looks like instead of dropping Canadian prices like Porsche to close the gap between U.S. and Canadian pricing they raised U.S. prices instead

I saw that HK added Bluetooth also. Hope that's a bug. But psyched that I can order a 128 M sport in Deep Sea Blue! A 2012 would cost me $1400 more than a 2011 but worth it to get my first color choice with M sport! Hope that's not a bug in the config.

Just got a call from my CA,

Bluetooth can be ordered stand alone, however HK Surround sound DOES infact now require bluetooth to be ordered also-
So the Configurator wasn't bugged: it adds Bluetooth with HK Surround and that is now a requirement.

Sucks, but I'd say still worth it- You get BMW Assist program with the bluetooth also..

My CA confirmed the same that HK requires BMW Assit. Sucks. Adds $750 to cost of HK. Dont think HK is worth $1500. Gotta love BMW NA.

If i'm not mistaken, the x1 is built in the same factory as the 135i... The x1 is selling like hotcakes in europe, they can't keep up with demand. I bet that has something to do with the price hike of the 135i's.

The prices are creeping up! Your better off buying a used 2010 or 2011! If they had a good financing offer I would hit them up for a new one.

Why would you do that to such a nice car?

Am I correct that the 2012 128 now charges extra for leather and the Automatic is free? At least that is what the configurator seems to be saying. My 2011 went up $1575, with the same options.

The new front bumper looks very interesting... They seem to be going toward the Euro look. I am not sure if I like it..

You are correct. The price increases are ridiculous, but I understand the reasoning behind thier decision.

Build a BMW 128i with the M-sport package, Xenon lights, Premium, USB/I-pod, and a few other miscellaneous options - $40k MSRP. That is Audi TT pricing territory.

Not saying the TT is a better car than the 128i, but one is thought of as entry-level and the other isn't.

I guess I'll hang on to my '09 128 for a good while, as it may well be my one and only BMW....
