New Owner!
Okay, I ordered my first BMW last June 25 and I'm excited to share the details. This looks like a great place to find out information. Thanks in advance. My care will possibly be the most-photographed BMW ever, as I'm an avid photographer.
2011 BMW 128i Space Gray Metallic Convertible Black Boston Leather Convenience Package Sport Package Steptronic automatic transmission (my wife's requirement) Sports Leather Steering Wheel with paddle shift Moonlight Black soft top Adaptive light control BMW Assist Harmon Kardon surround sound (my requirement) Smartphone integration Total: $39.5K They gave me a decent trade on my 2004 Jeep Liberty The test drive blew me away. The car is solid, responsive and fun to drive! Here's what I test drove. Mine is in production and due here next month! Cheers, Dave |

Congrats! I recently ordered a 2011 128i convertible as well. I placed my order May 28th, and the car was done with production on June 21st. Currently the car is on a ship headed to the USA. It will be in New York soon if the ship hasn't already docked @ the port. I can't seem to track my car right now. The dealer told me it will be in NY July 5th and @ the dealership on July 8th. Looks like I'm only a few days away from getting my first NEW BMW. It's exiting. I don't think about much else anymore. You will see what I mean

I look forward to seeing some good shots of the moonlight top. Apparently is looks different depending on the light so I will be interested to see some top up shots in different lighting conditions.

It's "in-transit!" maybe two weeks to get to Baltimore, eh? Cannot wait!

Have you thought about taking Performance Center Delivery? Your only cost is getting to the Greenville, SC Marriott. You get a night at the Marriott including dinner and breakfast, you get to play with their cars on the test track the next morning, then they give you lunch and deliver your car to you. Maryland isn't that far away and you might be able to take the blueridge parkway on the way back.
I also drive a 128i vert I picked up at the performance center just over a year ago. I love it. Jim

Well, it's arriving in Baltimore and I live just north of Baltimore! The dealer told me I'll have the new car five to seven days after it gets in country. Can't wait! But thanks for the heads up on the options.
Dave

The wait is over!
Yesterday at lunch I picked up my new BMW 128i Convertible. I ordered it June 25! What a difference from driving the Jeep! This car is tight to the road and much more responsive. It's got a lot of pep. It's like driving a speed boat down the highway with the top down. Last night we all went to the health club that way -- hair blowing in the wind. The kids fit in the back seat no problem. Wow! What a great car! This thing is a blast!
