Exhaust Rattle

Hey guys so I installed my downpipe and now there is a pretty bad rattle. I've heard it before the install but not as bad. After looking into it I see that I am missing a bolt (the arrow in one of the pics), to what appears to be some sort of mount or brace for the rear suspension maybe... it's a "V" shape mount. About 2 1/2 feet long on both sides.

The question is, instead of finding another bolt to tighten it down; could I just remove the whole "V" shaped metal mount completely off? By taking it off will it cause issues? What is this "V" shaped mount for exsactly? I feel like there would be no rattling whatsoever with it off. And it doesn't seem like it does much other than minor support. But I could be wrong.

Any feedback will help, thanks guys.

Edit: I have an n55

It's an n55, sorry should've specified... I basically just wanna know what that mount is for, so I can either just remove it or replace the missing bolt.

ive heard that the x-brace isnt mandatory and can be removed. I have a BMR exhaust and will be lowering my car soon, so Id like to remove the X-brace just for more clearance myself. but im not 100% if it can be removed as some can say it can be and some say differently. following this thread

So it's called an X-brace huh? I wonder why, it's more like a "V" to me... anyways thanks for the input. I'll probably wait to see if any more ppl comment on here stating that it's safe to remover or not. or what the actual purpose of it is for!

Yeah the one I'm talking about is all the way at the rear of the car. To were other pics I see is more towards the middle of the car right in front of the resenator. Where the bolt is missing in my pic is only like a foot past the rear bumper I can lay down at the end of my car and touch the x brace. Maybe I do have two I'll have to go take another look and see if there is two.

It's the chassis reinforcement brace because your car has no roof. Do not remove it. Replace the bolt - or all the bolts because they are torque + angle.

Check the bracket on the midpipe near where it connects to the downpipe - assuming the new downpipe still has the pair of outlets like the stock one? Sometimes the Torx bolt is loose and will rattle a lot. Also check for v-clamp interference with the wastegate arm

+1 for add a new bolt and re-diagnose.
