Keyed scratch repair

Girlfriends are great until they become ex girlfriends and key your car.
What are some methods to get this fixed without paying a huge sum at the body shop. I will post pictures ASAP. Thanks for the help.

If the damage is through the clear coat, the only way to repair the damage is with repainting.... or touch up, though touch up paint will never look perfect.

If the damage is not severe enough to have penetrated the clear, the scratches can be removed with a paint correction, and possibly wet sanding, process to level the clear coat.

Here is a deep scratch in a new Nissan GT-R

Upon inspection, we determined this was repairable, so we used 2000 grit sand paper to wet sand the area until the scratch was gone.

The sanding marks were then removed with a compounding and polishing process... you would never know a scratch ever existed.

Let me know if you've got any other questions!
