Headlight pitting
My headlights are pitted from sand and road crud. When the lights (rings and beams, either or both) are on you can see it reflected. Starting to bother me a little.
What's the best way to go about doing a headlight correction? I don't know how deep it is. It doesn't seem to be oxidation. I have already tried lightly hitting it with compound and a buffer. Cleared up the lenses a little, but the pitting stayed.

It might need some wetsanding. I would do some research into "restoring headlights with wetsand" and take it from there.
The compound definitely isn't cutting deep enough. Ps: don't forget to seal the headlights again with a long lasting wax or opti-glass to prevent oxidation.

I just did this over the weekend. I used the Chemical guys sanding block and 2500 / 3500 grit paper. Then compound .. polish... Jetseal 109.
What I found was that the 2500 grit was not cutting enough for me. So, on one headlight I used 1500 grit to start. The other used 2500. Now I need to do the other headlight again because the headlight I used 1500 on looks better.

Check out Larry at AmmoNYC on YouTube. He does a very simple and effective headlight restoration using the wetsand technique

Wet sand, polish and seal.
For plastics like the headlight lenses, I would test out 3000 grit, and work down to 2000 grit, +/- 500 grit, depending on the severity of the issue.
