Riss Racing has done a few cars with AA and apparently it works very well with the DP. Also they reckon that AA has a tune for DP. I am checking Andrew on this. But the beauty of AA chips is that you can tune it locally. I might work with Andrew (or another company if it's not his expertise) to come up with a tune if it doesn't run well with the base tune. If Andrew can't do it then I might speak to APS who are the real experts in these sort of areas.

Understand. I may just install the DP with stock tune first and see what AA comes up with. You may want to talk to them and see if they want to do a tune for DP from there.

wayne i would love to hear your views on the dps when they are in. where are you testing on the 20th?
if AA do end up optimizing for the rr dps in conjunction with their own exhaust it will be very attractive to me. btw, did you get their CDV too? i did and am looking forward to getting it in! |

Wow! You're game. I'm not ready for a downpipe - there is MASSIVE work involved in installing them, apparently removing the lower suspension subframe.
Good luck! Cant wait to hear about the results. |

I would want to dyno the car and do a Pre and post install dyno test to see the power and torque difference. How do you feel about that?

I'd HIGHLY recommend doing a pre dyno.. How do you guage the benefits? Seat of the Bum Dyno?
Are you 100% sure they work on RHD cars? Have they been tested on RHD cars? no issues with steering column clearance or anything? They claim they work on RHD cars but I dont think they have tested it... Could be wrong! |

Kris, the car has 2 sets (as in 4 in total) cats. I will not be caught without cats. Yes, I saw it with my own eyes last night. |

Andrew will have to document it as I will probably be at work when he installs this. Unless he wants to do it on a sat with all of us there to watch? They would be fun.

Riss Racing has confirmed that 6 catless pipes have been installed in Oz and about 50 RHD cars in total! I wonder if he meant 335i though???

guys, i am wondering about catted vs. catless DPs. i know that the catless gives more of a kick but at the expense of more noise too. the vid of the catless DP that RR put up is almost too noisy for me. the owner described it as a helicopter!
i think a catless DP with an aftermarket catback exhaust might just become loud enough to be borderline obnoxious in day-to-day driving! so catted, on the other hand, may be a better bet for those who will drive off the track as well. perhaps more understated than in-your-face. also, given that i want to put an aftermarket exhaust i am concerned that a DP may spoil the exhaust note entirely! tough choice really and it seams like it comes down to which is more melodious and less noisy! 1. catless DP and stock exhaust OR 2. catted DP and either a axleback or catback |
