2015 M3/M4 Turbo Retrofit?
Do we know if the new M3/M4 powertrain has any upgraded components that would bolt onto the 1M? I'm wondering about the turbos specifically, and perhaps the downpipes (though we already have high flow downpipes).
Is the additional power generated on the new platform a result of upgraded internals, or (hopefully) just larger turbos? Last edited by Scott B; 09-28-2014 at 12:23 AM.. |

M4 is twin turbo. That being said, Its an entirely different engine system and nothing will bolt up or line up.
The 1m is still a terrific car next to an M4 and if anything, we could borrow some of the f8x improvements not in direct bolt up but in focus. F8X has a bolted subframe - 1M can use solid aluminum subframe bushings ( same e9x m3 ones offered by turner, mrf etc.) Focus on weight savings - cut weight wherever you can. Upgrade cooling |
