My IS came with black mirror caps and the grill looks like chrome outer rim with black gills

The 128i, 135is, and the 1M all came with black and chrome grilles (black grilles with chrome surrounds). The 135i came with all chrome grilles.

Edit: I think the Canadian M Sport Edition 135i came with the black and chrome grilles as well. It is essentially the same car as the 135is, minus the goodies added at the US port.

update

(I'm about to rant about Carmax...scroll down to skip)

Well I finally got the car home from Carmax. Which, unfortunately, has been surprisingly difficult and frustrating. But, in the end, turned out fine...so far. I guess they recently changed over to a new "system", which has made things a little more challenging apparently. Communication was terrible from step 2. When I reserved the car and gave them my info on the website they called me quickly and got the ball rolling. But it has been uphill ever since. I asked for some clarifying info before agreeing to ship the car...they never called me back with the info and just shipped the car...without payment for shipping. They never called me to let me know the car shipped, when to expect it, when it arrived, or why they had it for several days after it arrived. I had to keep calling them to find out what was going on. Went to the store once it arrived and they refused to let me even lay eyes on the car until non-refundable transfer payment was made. I don't want to put anyone out there or get anyone in trouble, but a sales manager at my location did me a solid and made me feel comfortable with paying the transfer payment on the spot even though I was not able to see the car. Fast forward a few days of uncertainty, they called to let me know it was ready but I missed the call and they left a message. I called back, got a call center and not the actual store where the car was, their records showed I had not made the transfer payment yet and the car wasn't reserved in my name. So he re-reserved it for me and later found the record of payment. Went to the store and drove it home...happy with the car and that it was over with.
(rant over)

Well she isn't perfect. Need to upgrade/replace some bushings to stiffen her up and do the other "must do" upgrades. The paint has some issues, but the interior is immaculate and she runs great. All in all...very happy.

Sorry to hear your experience wasn't the best. Usually hear good things about CarMax, although my one and only experience with them was less than I expected.

Congrats and good luck with the car.

Couple of things here:
#1. a leaking OFHG will leak onto the serpentine belt causing it to fail too soon and when it does fail, can destroy the engine, period-full stop. Also, all that leaking oil may be sucked into the alternator. Know what a new/rebuilt BMW alternator costs? Now I said "leaking", not just weeping.
#2. a BMWCCA member can easily ask another member in location where car is to actually put eyes on the car for a 2nd opinion. Between club members this is often free but I wouldn't hesitate paying someone $100 especially if they have to drive 20-30 miles or more to see it.

I like it. Makes the car feel more responsive in the steering.

They're CF according to the Monroney sticker.
