I imagine it's nearly identical to a muffler and resonator delete. Perhaps a tad quieter but from what i recall the PE is essentially a muffler housing with the exhaust piping straight through it, rather than circulated through a system of baffles.

Any updates on the 135i PE to a 128/125i yet? Curious to see how it sounds. 135i exhaust sounds good, but 135i PE is lighter and will give it even more volume!

There used to be a video on youtube of a guy with a 125i that had a full 135i performance exhaust on his car, that thing was LOUD.

So I got my 135i axelback installed. Resonator is still in place and I want to keep it that way just because I want to keep that part of the car unchanged. Unfortunately it's not as loud as I hoped it would be. Can anyone recommend another 135i axelback exhaust? Not interested in a muffler delete so the Berk race is out of the question. Any ideas?

Save the money, get headers. More sound and actual power.

Can't see myself doing the headers and the tune right now. I'm very pleased with how fast the car is and the next big perf. mod will be a Quaife . So currently all I'm after is sound.

How is the SS muffler? Has it gotten louder since you first got it?

Why not a muffler delete? From the videos I've watched, it sounds like a nice bump in volume without the rasp you get from a resonator delete. Since you have your 135i muffler bolted on, just take it off and drive around for a day or two and see if that's what you like. If it is, buy a Berk or have a shop fab up a pipe with tip.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have the 135i muffler and once I can find some time, I plan to do a muffler delete to get more volume. If it's too loud I'll just put the 135i muffler back on.

I've heard some muffler deletes. Sound great in car, but outside is not good imo. It has no soul

Really the muffler delete isn't loud at all, sounds quiet compared to my RE Diablo on the Z4M.

No drone either

I believe you but I just don't think there's enough to it, not enough soul, sounds a bit generic IMO

Eh, I don't care.

A pipe is lighter than a muffler. So that's what I went with.

Plus, $60 for the fab work is cheaper

My point is the headers give a good bit of sound/character, while providing other benefits. Best of both worlds.

Kgolf, do you have any videos in/out of your car with the muffler delete? I am on the fence right now, might get it done next week but I just would like to hear a sound clip of it before I do. surprisingly there are few clips of 128i with muffler delete on youtube
