What was your car prior to your 1er?
I know the 128/135 is the first BMW for a number of you. I'm curious what you drove prior to receiving your new baby.
Mine was a Mazdaspeed Protege. Only 180hp, but also only 2800lbs... not the fastest, but handles like a dream. I'm keeping her for winter driving. Last edited by Justin; 02-12-2009 at 07:22 PM.. |

My 135i coupe is still on order but I already sold the 2001 Mercedes C240. A looker sedan but anemic power, modest handling and terrible reliability.
My first and last Mercedes. The 135i will be my third BMW -- the first two were 320's, remember those? |

Porsche 911 (993)
272 hp, nice cornering, a real looker. Expensive to maintain, however, and because it was a manual transmission my wife (whose knee is blown out) couldn't drive it. The auto transmission 135i is an eager luxury track demon that she can drive, too. |

2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged
--- damn, i loved that Rover. but with it giving me 9mpg in the winter, and at best 12 mpg in the summer, i had to make a concession no regrets, however, in getting the 135i -- especially when i get giddy over the 20+mpg... |

2004 Citroen C2 1.4 ->55kW 110 nm torque.. no comparison in terms of power (130kW 350NM torque).. the ride on the c2 is much softer as well.. no sports suspension.. which is not a bad thing.. just different.. very comfortable though.. and much more fun on the bends even though you're not going that fast
I appreciated the elec window controls next to gear shift, radio controls on a stalk and refrigerated glove box.. plus the 100 000kms I get on a set of tyres It belongs to my wife now..

that's a interesting change, what do you use to haul dead bodies in excess of 150 mph now?

1999 E39 525i....Loved that car to death. The list of mods included:
Custom Sub-Enclosure(for shows, functional as well) w/Audison Amps and Hertz Sub/Components CamShaft Swap DigitPower Tune Bilstein Sport Shocks KW Springs BMC CF CAI ASA AR1 19" Wheels Had to sell it because I am currently in Iraq and it was Deutsch Spec. wasnt worth it to convert. Instead I sold it and put the money in the bank. Buying my 135i as a consolation gift to myself...LOL...but man I miss that car. |

2000 Nissan Altima. I bought it cause it was cheap and reliable and I had 4 tickets in my Camaro, which is what I had before that. I promised I wouldn't buy another nice car till I came back to California and reasonable cops who don't pull you over for going 53 in a 50. It was worth the wait. |
