Thanks for the info, I'm glad he survived that. He had to have fallen asleep and is very lucky to be alive. Had he been even a foot higher I think it would have been a fatality. Did you happen to catch the date it happened?

It happened the day it was posted, 20th DEC, at 5am.

If they treated public roadways with the same safety concerns of a race track this probably would't have happened.

A simple gravel/sand trap instead of a concrete barrier or ramp (in this case) would have slowed the vehicle down and possibly prevented any injuries.

I think it's just a reflection from the lamppost on the right, I see reflections on other parts of the car as it passes by that post, maybe just my imagination

Press in my country reported that the BMW accident happened indeed on 20 Dec around 5am near the city of Poprad in Slovakia (Europe). Driver is a 44-yr old guy who declared that he "briefly fell asleep" (micro-sleep). Alcohol test was negative (OK). Driver incurred merely minor injuries.
