Smile My new 135i Alpine White, Red Leather, Auto - With Pictures

At last! Its here!!

Attachment 4773
135i Msport, Alpine white, red leather, auto box, comfort access, seat heating, Xenons, cruise, professional nav, bluetooth, Hi-Fi professional DSP, USB.

I've driven it just a few miles from the dealer, on motorway and on B roads, but here are my first impressions:

Engine

The acceleration is astonishing. I accelerated with the auto box in "Sport" mode and I wasn't expecting the kick in the back that this engine gives you. It is also very smooth, and refined. I cant see why you would ever want more power than this on the road.

I owned a Nissan 350z for a few years, and this is in a different league.

The fuel economy was only reading 13mpg (but its only done 15 miles or so), I dont intend to worry too much about this.
Plus I'm being careful until its broken in.

Suspension / Ride

It is not harsh at all. It is very well damped, very comfortable. The sports seats and driving position are great. I was quickly able to find my ideal position.

Autobox

Very quick changes, sport mode is wonderful. The salesman said it is likely to be one of the first 135i's in the UK with auto.

Interior

All very solid. I've got lots of kit on it so I'll play with it shortly and post my thoughts.

If anyones got any specific questions i'll be pleased to answer!

I'm going out for a drive today...more pictures will follow!

I have a question...wanna trade headlights? haha, I gotta get me some of those clear Euro lights. they look so much better than the ones on US 1ers.

Amazing how the wheels and the clear side markers make the car look even better! Jealous here in the states!

Thanks for the pictures, Paul! I'm loving the AW, and it goes extremely well with the Coral.

Wow that looks amazing! Alpine White with Red leather is beautiful *drool*

I agree the 261's and white front blinkers look much better/sexy/cleaner than our U.S. spec bits.

Paul,

there was a post recently about "throttle lag" not "turbo lag" on the autobox. Meaning the car took about half a second to accelerate after pressing the pedal... Can you please confirm if this is the case with your car ?

thx...

Looks great, I'm thinking of something similar but either a 123d or 125i M-Sport. Enjoy.

Yes there is a very slight lag, but I wouldn't have noticed if it hadn't been mentioned on the forum.

I read the topic and then went for a drive to see. Under normal driving conditions (in any auto mode) there is no lag at all, however when you floor the accelerator pedal, there is a fraction of a delay before it takes off. I think it is also changing gear in this moment so its difficult to tell exactly what is happening. Its less noticable in ds mode.

I just took some passengers out for a run, the awesome accelaration soon makes you forget about this, I'm grinning from ear to ear.

Looks GREAT! Congrats.

It looks like this will be a very popular combination. When I bought my 325e in '84 in AW and red leather, it was a pretty rare sight and I appreciated the rarity. It's funny but despite the apparent popularity of the combo, I find my interest increasing.

Tally Ho!
