E92 M3, Cayman S, Camaro SS, Mustang GT500...or even a Z06 would be tight...but dont go with the z4 or 335 becuz it has the same engine as the 1, and i wouldnt get the 370z cause of how bad it is driving everyday..Cayman S is one hell of a fun car

The E92 M3 and Cayman S would be awesome but they are out of my price range at this time. I was considering a 335D as well but don't they only come in automatic? As far as the Camaro and Shelby, they would really have to impress me on the interior for me to consider them. I have no doubt that the V8's would impress but I still need some refinement in the cabin such as bluetooth/ipod/nav etc. The Z4 M I saw had the ivory leather option and the ENTIRE interior including the A pillar and door panels were decked out in leather which was really nice.

What model Camaro was it? I find it hard to beleive a SS model would be a "dog" unless you weren't staying in its powerband.

Im sure the shelby would have the Ford Sync system which is bluetooth/navi/ipod etc. I guess before we can make recommendations we need to know what your price ceiling actually is... it looks like you want interior features, manual transmission, quick car, does it have to be a vert?

What's your price range? That would help narrow things down some. If your looking for fun and fast, I'd go with a Cayman S, E93 M3, Lotus Exige and c63 AMG.

50-60K is my price range. I would get a Cayman S but even with a few options its already at 70. It doesn't HAVE to be a convertible but I am most definitely leaning that direction. At 50K for a 62K car the Z4M is very attractive but I do see them on craigslist going for 35-40K with just 10000 miles on them. Maybe I can get them to come down more. That was their first offer. Or throw in some goodies like.

The Camaro SS does not have a navigation option.

Just because the OP here had a lot of issues with the pump on his 135i, what does that have to do with another one having the same problems? I mean, this is a forum for fans of 1's and 3's, isn't it? OP, the new Camara "looks" nice, but it's cramped. The 370Z was truly a FUN sports car. If you can deal with the hard dedicated seats, the Z is awesome, beautiful too. If you truly liked the 1, as I think you did, why not get another one or a 3 series? They Cayman is a different price range, not a x-shopped car for 1 or 3 owners. The new Mustang might be cool too, but NOT the previous gen. TT-S is SWEET. Keep in mind that pretty much all of the cars you're looking at all have their own set of issues, if you look at their respective forums. NOTHING is perfect in the automotive world. |

As mentioned, that is a good list of cars to test. The '08 Z4 M Roadster is definitely sweet, especially at a discount. I'd probably see if they would bargain further on this car. The cars with the most similar performance to the Z4 M would probably be the 370Z and Cayman S.

Even at 12K off the 62K asking price I think it would be too expensive considering I can get one with less than 10K miles and CPO for 35-40K. I saw an 08 M3 with 4000 miles for low 50's and an 07 Boxter S with 7 yr extended warranty for $37K. At 50K the Z4M still doesn't make sense to me. |
