1 piece or Aluminum coolant expansion tank
Well I've got the notorious leaking coolant expansion/reservoir tank right at the seal where the 2 halves meet - oem lasted about 30,000 miles.
Does anyone know of an aftermarket option for a full 1 piece tank (like virtually every car seems to have except BMWs) or an aluminum version that we can replace with these crappy plastic ones? Anyone fit some sort of aluminum tank in their car? |

Just had mine replaced under warranty and am disappointed that this design is known to do this and they choose not to address it. I only have 52K miles on a 2012 and it went south, just a poor design.

Its probably just a supplier issue. A new part from BMW is covered by a two year parts warranty. That's better than what any aftermarket company will sell you.
