whether you're on a track or on the street .2 does make a difference. the difference between winning and losing...

so if you're into handling, take it to an auto-x. but then again, time matters there too....so basically the only kind of racing where time doesn't matter, is when you're not racing an opponent , aka on a backroad.

IMO I just dont see the 1er being that much quicker than the STI(no not because I have one) but because the AWD advantage from a stand still.
If launched correctly the STI is a beast(granted again this takes into account the biggest factor- driver). The 1er's lighter weight and earlier punch of Torque will def help but this again takes into account that you will not be smoking the rears and you will be locking up quickly (which from some prelim reviews might be taxing with the stock tires).

My guess is with a severe(do not recommened it) clutch dump and provided you are not spinning the tires, 4.9 -5.1.

Again not an expert here just my opinion and ALL speculation.

Either way I am def excited to see some actual numbers(even though I am not a drag racer and def do not advocate clutch dumps)...I know some others drive with reckless abandon and will push the car. This is the part I am def interested in seeing , "real-world"- to a degree- numbers.

I have a WRX with a stock turbo tuned i destroyed the m3 and the 335i when i was at a bmw meet..with a highway roll.. from a dig i killed them worse and we have videos on you tube from bmw guys watching me launched my car.. if i can do this with a WRX you should be able to deff do it with the STI i know the gearing slows you down in 1/2 mile time.. I mean dont get me wrong i am getting the 135i but i dont think it will come close to beating my wrx how it sits now with a big turbo witch is why i am going to be looking to heavly modd the 135i when it comes out. because you know that car going to be able to push some great numbers with its size and setup.

Bench racing FTL!!

No, I am saying we already know... and cannot understand why this thread exist. Where is the speculation? The 335i's are hitting 4.8 consistantly. The 135i is 198lbs lighter.

Figure it out!

LOL...give me a break. Your stage 2 WRX will match a stock M3 but will not destroy it. Did the other guys know they were racing?

yes he did we raced like 3 times that day.. my car had no tune on the way down to the meet and i got spanked.. when we were at the meet my friend who is a tuner named Junior tuned it and on the way home i killed the m3 and many people have seen it done. it was not the 1st m3 i did it too on an old set-up.. by destroy i mean i beat him by 2 cars.. Now i have bigger turbo more boost better tune utec, full kyb agx around with pro drive spring. act clutch and fly wheel. k&n typhoon cold air. uppipe cat delete to sti up pipe.. full tanabe exhaust concept G blue.. and a 2step launch control..
These 2 video of my car are from the bmw meet taken by a bmw guy because they all liked how i was launching. this was with my old set up..

nice launches. Where do you rev it to? sounds like about 4500. I did that, and my stock tranny held up, but i didn't want to abuse it to much and just saved up and got RA gearset. The 1mm thicker gears gave me a lot more confidence.

Is $1400 worth 1 sec better 0-60, when racing anythin is helpful. And yeah a headwind will hurt ur time but itll hurt the guy your racing just as much. And do you really wanna wait til you get to the twisties to burn that dodge, also not everyone has twisties around too.

Exactly. What kind of douche launches in a parking lot full of cars - and aims it at a minivan?

My answer since I am personally bored with drag racing and would like to see that $1400 go to something better (like fixing the understeer) is yes! I would love to show all the guys driving new chargers (ugly) that there is much more to being quick than just going in a straight line. Anyone can shift gears (or just put the foot down) and go fast but I want a car that can also get me ahead on the turns! I want to show them who the better driver is not who has the fastest 0-60 (which these days any decent drag race at a stop light will reach speeds well over 60). I want to bob and weave my little 1er through traffic to get to work on time. As for the wind lucky for us dodge still hasn't learned a single lesson about aerodynamics
