Putting the e92 M3 seat in my car is maybe my favorite mod ever. Was impossible to have fun in those stock seats. Never installed my passenger but it's pristine, paid 180 total at a yard too. Enjoy.

Did a couple things over the past two days. Finished wiring in my side-bolsters,
a set of new tires (Dunlop Direzza) and a car wash. Next up tonight or tomorrow: reset the seat-belt and airbag lights... and AKG bronze clutch pedal bushings and BMS clutch pedal stop. And the BMS CDV whenever I feel like crawling my ass back under the car. |

Chasing limp mode/no boost…
I can be driving and boost will just cut out with half engine icon Turn the car off and back on and boost is back and it drives fine afterwards… 2AA2, 2A9E is what I'm seeing… Vanos, boost solenoids and outlet camshaft sensors been changed… Only thing left is the inlet camshaft sensor… |

Sanded and polished the headlights on my fixer-upper 128i. Orbital sander worked far better than the drill as used in most kits for the 400 grit sanding of the very-hard factory UV outer coating. Rotary drill was just heating things up but the orbital took off material a lot more efficiently. Took several hours but turned out great! 400, 800, 1500, 3000 all orbital, then rubbing compound on the drill, then hand wax. Next up is some love for the neglected race car Last edited by Mike Whitney; 07-31-2021 at 03:52 PM.. |

Did the AKG brass bushing install on clutch pedal. Major pain in the ass that was. I couldn't figure out how to get the pedal off the master cylinder so I unbolted that to get the wiggle room I needed. But jesus tap-dancing christ those two nut and bolt combos are bitch to loosen and tighten. All is done now so no more pedal shaking around when I hit the clutch. Did the pedal stop yesterday before work. So Billet BMS clutch delay valve is next at some point...

Installed the clutch stop from pickyeater on ebay—so much easier to shift smoothly now that the last bit of useless clutch travel is gone—and put in the left inside ("Brake Force Display") brake lamp that had been throwing an error since I purchased the car. Because it was missing; yes, missing. Entirely.
Up next: BMS CDV and Redline MT-LV transmission fluid. At 73K miles, there's no record of transmission fluid ever being replaced, so I figure if nothing else it's just good preventative maintenance as the car just recently came to me. Last edited by Almuliman; 08-01-2021 at 10:30 PM.. |

Global Chip manufacturing has been stationary due to the combination of draught and COVID-19 in Taiwan.
The draught has broken (you might've seen major China mainland flooding on the news), which is good news for chip manufacturing, because the cleaning process that brings us new circuit boards uses lots of water... But COVID-19 hasn't gone away, and Mainland China is making moves toward Taiwan and the USA is making moves to abandon the defense of Taiwan ... so the space is still very "interesting". One of the moves the US Gov't has made is to throw money at anyone looking to move chip manufacturing out of Taiwan and back into the USA, which is a pretty smart first step (regardless of the long-term political strategy). tl;dr: Maybe, but don't count on it. |

Lol, well too late as I bought it right after I got the car and it's been chillin waiting for me to install it. A throttle controller may be next on my list.

Wouldn't waste your money on a throttle controller either if you're planning on doing any mods that require a tune (MILVs, headers 3SIM if you don't want to use the BimmerLabs tune). Most tunes remap the throttle.

Things I discovered today on my car:
Nice surprises. The seller didn't know what was on it other than coilovers and "something else in the rear". |

I meant that he didn't know what the rear suspension setup was, but yeah, the RSFB are on my "might do" list, so I'll be super happy if they're already done. Odds definitely went up given the other mods, I'm thinking.

I have the double adjustable kit . At least the springs and dampers, haven't checked on camber plates yet. 350 lbs front and 700 lbs rear, which explains why the rear pogos so badly (for those of you in / around Seattle, for an example: The low bridge on I90 eastbound over the Bellevue Slough is ... let's call it "amusement ride quality"). TC Kline recommends 600 lbs rears for street, but also upgrading the RSFB to M3 or solid (!) specifically to address the pogoing, so I guess that just moved up on my to-do list. Avoids having to spend $196 to change the rear springs to 600 lbs and I want the bushing upgrade anyway. And so the to-do list grows... |
