Dang!? It looks like this is near a front wheel, looking upwards right? Weld failed right along the connection. Seems like something to be shared with BMW, but who knows who you should really contact lol.
Correct...

I can say that I've hit a pothole or two on that side of the car...
But enough to cause a fracture at the weld point...
Idunno!
If it was a pothole that sucks (actually whatever it was sucks). I've ran over my share, who hasn't, but I've been very lucky and never got any damage from one. Have heard of wheel and tire damage, and suspension parts being damaged, but don't think I've ever heard of frame damage from a pothole. Doesn't mean it can't happen.

It'll work fine! Make sure you replace the spring pads, and if you're over 75k I'd recommend new top hats too.

Have fun!

I honestly didn't think so either...
I think this was here before I bought the car...
I reviewed the Carfax before I bought it and it doesn't mention it...
Nor the dealer that i bought it from...

Isn't that weld usually covered up by the belly pan?

And I assume by belly pan you're referring to the underbody covering?

Well, I’m still here and still have the car!

The buyer of it backed out after being really flakey while supposedly trying to get shipping lined up. He was in Florida and FaceTimed me this weekend and said he was no longer buying the car. I had already taken it for a PPI for him and everything and was ready to work with his schedule. It’s a weird time for many right now though, so who knows what circumstances may have popped up?

However, I am NOT planning to re-list it at this time. Going to take some time and figure out what I truly want to do. As you can see from the photo, took the car for a drive this evening and it was amazing, as always.

I did make the mistake of driving a 718 Cayman with a manual while looking at cars. And the damn super nice Porsche salesman let me take the car for almost two hours. Unfortunately I’m just not in a place to drop ~$65k on a car right now. But driving that car made me think long and hard about swapping to a BRZ or Miata.

They’ll fit. Height is fine, but they may not be quite firm enough. Particularly if you’ve ditched the runflats.

On my convertible i tried Swift Spec-R and found them too low, and too stiff. Swapped ‘em out with Eibach‘s spec’d for the E88, and could not be happier. Probably 1/2 inch lower than the M-Sports. YMMV, of course.

Not sure how many of you are gamers but I'm commissioning a couple guys to make a mod of my car for GTA V. Will be pretty cool to drive my own car around in the game. It kind of immortalizes it. They told me as long as Rockstar doesn't pull any craziness, I'll be able to bring it into the next game with little effort

I'm legit level 560 at the moment & played GTAO since day 1 launch. Rockstar's updates over the years haven't improved it much, there are lots of fake things that bother me now like the flying crotch rocket bikes, stunt races, orbital cannons etc. These should have never been added. They started catering to children (despite age restriction) & microtransaction focused content IMO. I wish they focused more on realism & giving players the ability to do car meets without getting blown up by RPGs & fake alien guns. I play on PS4 so I wont see modded PC stuff. There's lots of small coupes I would have liked to see added in GTA.

Edit: Staying on topic... attached a picture of my painted performance brake upgrade, still need to do the discs in black but I cant get on a lift because shops are closed, & I need additional steel flex brake lines from somewhere.

Changed the oil two days ago at a cool 205,000 miles. Running like a top, as usual.

Ordered a set of brembo discs and pads for the front. Steering wheel is starting to tremble when braking hard and there is a sound coming from the front.
56k miles and 8 years of very spirited braking has taken its toll!

Also picked up some oil, filter, differential drain plug and BMW brake fluid. Now I need to just get transmission and differential fluid and I can do all my maintenance over the summer.

And since the GTI is put away, I wonder how many miles I will rack up this summer!

Cool. There are higher mileage E90's on the forum, but, you must be the highest E82 on here.

PS. Love seeing this - means I got 150k more to run on mine.

There's just something about these cars. They're the right balance of modern manufacturing and technology with old-school, robust German engineering.

Today I learned that adjustable swaybar links are more of a necessity than an option while replacing your front suspension. This whole time I was thinking I was experiencing the infamous tckline clunk of doom but nope... pic related

I'll be happier when the replacement I ordered gets delivered.
Looks like a MC headlight I once fixed.

Brought home a sister for the 1er a little while back:

Certainly a much different beast than the little 128i. Can feel the added weight, but it still feels like it manages it better. I'm holding on to the 1er for now, but it may be on the market in the near future...

Beautiful car.

Several years ago I test drove a Mineral White E92 M3, and what a car! At the time I decided I liked my 1er's torque and size more than the M3. I only have garage space for one car, plus my wife's, and don't want/need or can afford more than one car, so kept my 135i. Nowadays I have a completely different car but always admired that M3 and it's V8.

Congrats!

PS - keep them both if you can.

I took my new Berk race axle back exhaust to a couple of local muffler shops and they were like, oh sure bring it in Tuesday...screw that. Put it on myself...it actually wasn't too hard. And it sounds amazing. I was really worried it would be too much but it's just right.

Bittersweet first post with the new color. The shop that did the wrap decided they knew better than me about securing the front lip and only used two screws with tape as opposed to my 12 screws with tape. I did about 10k miles with the front lip secured that way, it didn't last 100 miles after they mounted it. Now I'm being blamed because I didn't check their work on securing the lip. I hate dealing with companies. Hopefully my bank sides with me and I can use that to recoup the cost on a new lip.
