Found a Friend Yesterday...

Or rather.. stalked a friend to his gym yesterday

I was on my way home, about to stop at a grocery store when I notice this really awesomely modded 1 series near me at a light. He was turning right and I was going straight into the supermarket. I never EVER see 1ers with mods. Maybe a dozen sightings in 3 years.

So naturally I made an illegal lane change and followed him. I only wanted to give him a thumbs up, but when I noticed he was pulling into the plaza with the other supermarket, literally down the road, I figured I'll just go to the A&P instead of the Stop & Shop and tell him hi.

Turned out to be forum member Baja2700, who I had actually seen once before ages ago, but never got a chance to talk to. He was going to the gym in the plaza and I was going to get some food. Talked for a while about how awesome these cars are. Also about how iCarbon blows and how lucky he was he got a hood, trunk, mirror caps, and diffuser from them (though his lip spoiler never materialized).

Anyway, on my way back to the car I snapped a couple quick crappy pictures on my phone. His mods are obviously the iCarbon goodies I just listed, plus a procede, intake, and full turboback exhaust at the very least.

I know your car's gonna be in hibernation any day now, but it was great seeing ya, man (if you're ever on this forum any more)!

TIL Droid cameras, while giving you over 3000x2000 pixels of resolution... positively, absolutely suck and can't focus at all. These pictures looked semi-good on the phone screen. wtf droid.

Ive done a few illegal lane changes myself to catch up to a modded 1er

Nope. Can't say I have. It's a modded 1er not a naked Adriana Lima

Alight...I see youre far too serious to be here.

Most of the time, since the car isnt cheap enough to get in the hands of most jackasses, a guy with a modded 1er is a fun guy to talk to.

And its always nice seeing what theyve done and comparing mods/stories

As I said, living where I live, I've seen maybe a dozen 1 series over the course of 3-4 years that weren't driven by old ladies, much less a modded 1 series. So yes, I did. Though the last time I saw another modded 1er, he was the one who chased me and caught up to me through traffic just to give me a thumbs up. It really isn't that uncommon or weird. I'm tired of giving the thumbs up to people who aren't enthusiasts and just give me weird looks. Plus I wanted to know what carbon trunk he got
