Looking forward to the dyno results, this is the nicest intake yet. However, I'm a little concerned about something, and perhaps someone could shed some light into this. I've read a post here or on N54 about even pressure from one of the intakes, is this true? If so what are the possibility of causing any problems? Or is this all BS...??

I just installed mine last week as well...

The install was relatively painless. I had a bit of a time getting the wiring harness off the existing intake and getting to the clamp on the rear intake to loosen it.

After everything was loose, I had to work a little to get the current air box out, but patience prevailed and it finally popped out. After that, everything was a piece of cake.

As far as "even pressure" to both filters. I think that is a ridiculous claim (probably from a RR fanboy). The intake sucks the air in that it needs and there is no shortage of air under the hood. The plenums job is to supply cooler air, not force more air in.

Now if someone starts going into Boyles law about volume/temp then I think I may puke. But in all honesty, I bought the intake for the sound, as I assumed performance gains would be minimal.

(Also, notice the amount of plenum that is still open to blow onto the second filter.)

My smaller hands helped in the install process, no trouble at all getting the stock box off the intake tubing.

The instructions that come with this intake are complete rubbish and if i'm aloud to say, I think they are made over seas. Don't be intimidated by the 50+ steps w/pictures in the installation guide, you will find out (probably while scratching your head for 10 minutes) that 2 pages are only for the 335 while 2 pages are only for the 135.

Problems I ran into:

Mounting the power steering bracket was a PITA, that manual doesn't really show you where to drill the hole so it's kind of a guessing game. I ended up trimming some plastic near the hole I drilled to get it to work. Once that was done it was smooth sailing.

with jb3 in default map 3 it sounded pretty cool. Nice whirl from the turbos at around 3k RPM. I put it in map4 (lagfix) and it sounds really bad ass. Can hear those turbos just about 1k RPM.

I can't say I notice a power difference but I wasn't expecting to. I will post dyno results (stock w/intake, map4, map6) tuesday evening.

They really do go on easily. The hardest part is removing the lower stock power steering reservoir bracket bolts.

Wow the red intake looks hot.. giving the engine some color as BMW has always been very dull.. but of course I am not wanting them to change it to look like the imports lol..

I originally planned on ordering black or polished, but after talking to Bobby at BavarianX, I decided to try the red since I have BSM and Coral. I am very happy with it.

would BMw mess with your warranty for something like this? I like the idea but I'm scared of losing my warranty on a first year car.

I will be removing it prior to any warranty work, so i'm not worried about it.

Drilling: YES, you have to drill a small (1/4) hole through the cross member to remount the power steering cup (the bracket is included with the intake)

It's the type of hole i don't think BMW would even notice if you brought it in for work.

If they do, I'll tell them I didn't like the position of the power steering cup

According to my Iphone "Dynolicious" software, I have went from 300 stock HP, to 700whp! Wow, JB3+Injen works miracles!

LOL, My dealer said the intake wasnt a problem. A week after I installed mine, I took it in for a leaking injector and I didnt hear anything about the intake. Obviously YMMV.

You have to replace the bracket for the power steering pump with a one supplied by injen. So if you were, really going to return it to stock, then you would have to take that bracket out and put the stock one back in there.

I wouldn't want to do it, but I assume I could get it all back to stock in 30-45 minutes.
