sucks i got an ap pretty much were being told to go elsewhere... cobb should start sellin ap for no more than &400imo theyre price misleads you to believe that it is being updated for life when its really a leftover product with no more support makes me really wanna get the mhd only thing is i feel they have more issues loading the software in with voltage jumps compared to my cobb that i install and uninstall alot, im only stage 2 aggressive and i feel its plenty powerful.. but if mhd has continued support its hard not to jump ship

COBB, if you don't have the resources to continue BMW development then why not open up the ROMs and your RE knowledge of them to the community and let us do the work?
You have provided a great platform for access to the ecu and done a ton of work to get it to this point. Can those of us interested in seeing the BMW support progress do some of the RE and development? |

More like, COBB, if you don't have the resources for continued development for the AP for the 135, it might be a wise idea to cut the price to reflect as such.

Thank you to everyone that took the time to post in this thread. I appreciate your support in this effort.
_____________________ Cobb, would it be possible to continue development on features for the already unlocked N54 vehicles? I know the 128bit encryption was preventing you guys from doing anything on the new platforms but the n54 stuff would appreciate some love. Maybe offer additional maps and charge money for those to help support the development. Thank you for taking the time to post here and I hope you stay to at least answer a few more of our questions. -David |

Of course I'd be in. For both N54 (135i) and my X5 (N55).
Though I know it isn't likely to happen in the foreseeable future.

Just some additional information... I spoke with Drew 2 days ago about unlocking the N55 ROMS. He said he spoke with an engineer about the encryption on the new BMW software and said "it would take 50 computers about 2 years to decode 1 ROM. BMW uses several different ROMS across multiple cars" So apparently that's the time it takes and it doesn't equal the money invested? Forgive me if it doesnt work this way but maybe they could release a program that you could pull your own ROM and use their decoder to unlock your rom. You send that in to Cobb and they send you your maps? I figure if 200 people do that, you go from 50 computers to 200 and you cut the time down tremendously. Again, it probably doesn't work that way but its a thought. Like a beta test group or something. |

Yes, absolutely! The N55 is just being tapped for its potential. I'll buy a Cobb if it means more N55 support! That's right: if you do more MEVD 17.2, I'll give you my money. Shoot, if you're low on support, I'll help you analyze stuff to ease the burden for free. I have tons of modern statistical software on my home computer. Need to know if a change is working or not? If you've got the data, I've got the analysis. Cobb, PM me for more info if you're interested.

Guess Ill wait for MHD or just go JB4 then.
I used and was (still am) a huge support of the AP for the Subaru platforms, it is just too bad that they are not supporting it for the BMW platform |
